Any sentence I impose has to reflect the revulsion and horror society feels at this kind of behaviour.
A nine-year prison sentence achieves this, does it? ^o)

I think prison sentences really need to start responding to society. One of the most horrific things I've ever read.

    How is it not shocking?

I like to think I have thick skin (compared to some people on this forum I must be an armadillorhinosaurus) but I was still shocked at the story.

To some degree, I agree. Though a lot of people would say that petty criminals need 20 year sentences for stealing a wallet. So that would kinda defeat the object.

We could always export them to say... Chad, maybe? Form a new "Australia"?

What if Margeret Thatcher was to get butt naked on stage at a conference and give David Blunket a tea bagging?
