Interview was today and it went bad.

Just thought i would make a post on how my interview went at southend uni (my home town).

Basically the tutors were formal dressed which put me off. Then when the interview came they starting insulting my work saying it was bland and they generally would not listen to me or let me talk through my work. I have never come across someone that was so rude and didnt get on with in an interview ever.

Strange really because i had been accepted else where on the day before for having a "different" portfolio (Conditional offer which says i must complete a NVQ course im doing lol).

So if people are not willing to get to know someone or there work i say suck em (really the s in suck should be something else)

Anyone else left an interview in tears like me?

yes but with art interviews, if you can't stick their critisism in that one session, how are you gonna stick it for the full degree? they just wanna see how you react most of the time

Well i get a lot of crit at interviews but i allways manage to swing it around but these people did not give me a chance.

then they either REALLY want you, or you shouldnt even consider going there. if it was terrible you should write to complain

yea, **** 'em. If I went somewhere that I was really rude I'd just think 'well, I now know I don't want to go here, so screw it', and then just start arguing with the interviewer. I say, forget it, send them a letter/email saying how disgusted you are, and then go to the nice place that you wanted to go to

If they were horrible to you, then take the approach that you wouldn't want to be on a course run by people who aren't very nice! Focus on your positives and other offers.
