Frances Gardner House/James Lighthill House

Are there any people on TSR that are currently living in either Frances Gardner House or James Lighthill House at the mo? For those living in Frances Gardner, do the rooms have their own kitchen/dining area as mentioned in the accomodation booklet or is it shared like in James Lighthill House?

In addition, i'd like to know what it's like in those halls and whether there have been any specific problems since you've been there.

Thanks in advance.

I guess we can't choose which hall we are going to live in. The form only contains maximum price and the most important factor you care about.

Yeh i noticed that when looking in the accomodation booklet.

Yeah, it's a bit irritating that you can't specify and that you are only allowed to put down one factor which is most important to you. I really would like en suite but I think I'm going to put down that my most important factor is having a single room as I'd really like some privacy.

Luckily I think that my maximum price is going to be pretty high so that might get me into some of the all en suite accommodation.

I was thinking of putting proximity to UCL. Are you sure you really need en suite? To me it doesn't matter that much so putting that would be like a waste of a box. I wish I could tick the Internet access box too though.

En suite is the one to choose. I really couldn't share with more than one person.

I put en suite as well.
I'm in JLH and it is pretty boring.

It's further out than other first year halls, and there is hardly any social. The fact that you need a key to go to each block prevents free movement of people- good security, bad for integration.

but are the rooms in general fine and dandy though?

By 'en suite' do they mean single and with bathroom? I guess thinking about it that a double room with an en suite would be a bit odd.

Just got an accommodation for these halls, well worried that it won't be social and I won't make any friends because all I've heard is that it's a bit boring. Any advice from anyone who has previously lived here?
Just been offered James Lighthill, and a mate has just been offered Frances Gardner. So yeah, to repeat the above, anyone got any recent experience?
