I love biology the most.

Although I do find astronomy and cosmology fascinating.
Not good enough at maths to do physics though lol!

Biologists are a mile wide and an inch deep - chemists and physists are the opposite.

I chose chem, for the reason above, and that it links all the pure sciences together very nicely.

Come on - social science is not a science. It's part of arts. Get it right.

My first few lessons on particle physics insured that physics is, by far, my favorite subject. Creating new particles sounds like much fun!

Particle physics is a great area of physics - and one that I ended up not studying for A2 but got to do a bit of nuclear as part of the core A2 module. I'm more into astrophysics myself though - but any physics is good physics (unless its thermal physics :p: )

Oh, it's just I thought I saw a post asking how easy Oxford chemistry is to get in or something...

My mistake. Physics is good: wish I could have taken it! Clashed with History though, so am planning on doing the AS next year.

Cor, this does come up with amazing frequency. ER was full of crap, just check out some of his other amazing observations such as this gem:

"Anyone who expects a source of power from the transformation of the atom is talking moonshine”

What a legend indeed.

Biologists are a mile wide and an inch deep - chemists and physists are the opposite.
That's just becuase you haven't looked past the end of your nose.:p: It can get even deeper than chemistry or physics.

Let bio=2, chem=2, phys=2

depth physics = phys = 2
depth chemistry = chem+phys = 2+2 = 4
depth biology = bio+chem+phys = 2+2+2 = 6

There, a proof! Biologists are a mile wide and a mile deep. AND IT'S TRIANGULAR!!!
I'd give you another proof for that but we're scientists and not mathematicians.

In case you hadn't guessed I voted for biology. I like physics an all but biology just pwns all.

Distinction of three sciences is merely a human categorisation to help us make sense of the world. In reality all are weaved together, and I think that much progress will be made as people begin to step outside of their discipline a bit more. One thing that springs to mind is the development of quantum biology (as in the application of quantum physics to biology), which is a small but growing field of study.
