Can anyone help, i really want to get into Nottingham.

Should I prepare for this interview in any way?

Yes.

What should I wear?

Smart casual. Don't wear a suit.

What should I ask, or be prepared to be asked about?

Quite simply, why you want to study Mathematical Physics, what interests you about the subject, and why you want to study it at Nottingham. Be prepared to ask a few straight-forward questions about the course, to show your enthusiasm.

You're going to an informal interview for a place at a University. Ergo the standard interview dress code applies: dress one step higher than what you would wear for the position you're going for.

And you can prepare for the interview by creating answers to the questions I posted above.

Current? Hardly.

Generally for interviews at notts, its just an opportunity for you to see the uni and persuade you to come, i think chances are u'll get an offer.

I had an 'informal interview' for physics at Notts. The first thing they told us on arrival was that everyone who was asked to the interview was going to get an offer. You get shown round then have a 10 minute interview where they just tell you the details of your offer and ask if you are enjoying your A levels. I wasn't asked a single question about physics, just if I planned on going to watch Notts at Trent Bridge as he saw from my PS that I am a cricket fan.

I wore jeans, t-shirt and trainers, so did almost everyone else.

To be honest the interviewer seemed more scared than I was. Anyone know Dr. Berners-Lee or something like that? Is he always that timid or an I just a scary person?

I've looked and it says "before making our decision we'd like to invite you to an interview"

Therefore it is not an informal interview. Should I dress smart?

Yep but not necessarily a suit. I'd suggest suit trousers, a shirt and tie, maybe a smart jumper on the top. You could wear a suit but I reckon the more smart/casual look is best. If its a proper interview i def wouldnt recomment casual though!
