Is it justified to be pissed off

Basically a few of us agreed to book a taxi to a place the day before, they told me to book the taxi on the day, in the morning, which I did. Just half an hour before the journey starts one of them started the trouble saying that he did not want a taxi. The others followed, without apparent thoughts. They told me to cancel it as they didn't want the taxi anymore, but you can't just cancel a taxi half an hour before!?

So I asked one of them why not the taxi, and she just said she wanted to walk. Then I offered to give all of them a lift for free anyway.

I asked, 'if I give you a free ride would you come anyway and not walk?"
The offer was subsequently refused, as they would rather walk (in the rain too), than to go in the same taxi as me.

Is it unreasonable to me pissed off? Someone would rather walk in the rain than have a taxi. Surely this suggests there is a personal issue against me.

That is a bit strange.. So you booked a taxi to take you guys somewhere, then they decided they didnt want it.. and wouldnt take a free ride. Maybe they didnt want you too spend all your money? Or was it a more hostile attidtude.. Its a bit confusing. But if that happened yeah, I would be a bit pissed.

It was hostile. I told them I can't really cancel the taxi half an hour before! So I said I will go on a taxi anyway, and subsequently offered them a lift, a offer that was instantly refused.

Did they even bother to explaan to you why? Have you talked to them since (were you going somewhere ver important..?)
Reply 5
nope. not even an apolopy or a discussion on that matter. Nor have I talked to them since about that. We were going on a 'work experience-type' place.

I would have just denied ordering a taxi and walked with them.

the problem is the taxi was already ordered, and you can't really cancel it half an hour before!

Yes you can! As long as they haven't left the depot you can cancel, surely.

you so have the right to be pissed off, id simply say, well im driving there now so if you dunt want the taxi sort it out yourself, im going and walk away,

simply the most sensible thing, put them in a spot then when they ask you to explain then you would have said, no you explain to me what the problem is with me whart have i done, make them feel gulity!!

well I haven't talked to them at all about it. I don't think I should be the one asking why, it is afterall, them who were wrong.
Well don't worry about it then.

And you can cancel a taxi whenever, right up until the point it's tooting outside your house. Maybe you could even cancel when it's outside your house (though I wouldn't fancy a face to face with the driver lol).

Your "mates" could have had any number of reasons and if they're going to be arsey then let them be arsey.

PS: Your comment about ppl on the forum being sad is arsey too.

The comment about being sad is directed at my colleagues who were meant to be in my taxi, they tend to read this forum too. It was not directed to anyone here.
