If AS gives a higher tariff, would it be counted instead of A2?

Hypothetically, as unlikely as it may be:

At AS, your grades are:

Psychology - A (60 pts)
Sociology - A (60 pts)
Maths - B (50 pts)
Business Studies - D (30 pts)

You apply to university X, and get an offer of "320 UCAS points with two A levels at grade E". You firm it.

At A2, your grades are:

Psychology - A (120 pts)
Sociology - A (120 pts)
Maths - E (40 pts) (You do very badly in your A2 modules).

Would you get in? Would maths A2 be counted, because you took it to A2, or maths AS, because it gives a higher tariff.

This is such a stupid question it's not worth thinking about. But you would have an A Level qualification, so would get the A Level points - the AS has ceased to count
