Last lesson before your test!

My test is coming up very very soon and I don't feel 100% confident or ready but I believe in myself (well a little bit) and think it is possible that I pass

My instructor isn't very nice though, I'm not the fastest learner in the world but he is really demoralising!!

I'm worried about the lesson just before the test cos if that doesnt go perfectly I'm going to feel like theres no hope - espescially if he shouts at me

How did your last lessons go? ^o)

I had an hour before my test on both days.. and both days i almost crashed like 30 mins before my test.....
Keeps you very very alert if you do something like that, which is kind of a plus?

Sadly my last lesson went better than my test. I drove smoothly as anything but then got nervous. My best advice is to try like mad to keep calm. More importantly, brake HARD on the emergency stop, even if you fear putting the exainer through the windscreen. Remember, he can't fail you if he's in hospital.

my last lesson was ok because we drove around the roads near the test centre so i got familiar with the level of traffic, road conditions etc. so it was less scary during the test

the lesson should help u make sure that u have set up the car correctly; mirrors in best position... so that for the test u will be ok

I drove much better on the lessons before my tests than I had before. It all just seemed to come together. If you find yourself getting tired (mentally or physically) toward the end of your lesson, don't drive too much before your test.

Have you ever tried saying to your instructor "you shouting at me really doesn't do anything for my confidence or nerves and isn't going to improve my driving", or something similar? Fortunately my instructor was very nice, but I think if I had one who did shout at me, I'd have to say something like that (or leave) before long.

Should you not pass, you MUST change instructor for your next test. I was in the same position as you - I had a grumpy and demoralising instructor, but then I changed and got a much nicer one with whom I learnt much faster.

Stay calm, practise the bits you aren't fond of first to get them out of the way and do the easier bits nearer the end if you can to give you a confidence boost.

Try and relax and when you get out of the car just forget the whole drive if it was awful and concentrate on your test drive. If it went well, all you have to do is repeat it in front of a different person.

The lesson right before my test was the best hour of driving i have ever done unfortunatly my test didnt go aswell. The lesson i'd had a couple of days earlier was awful and i did so much wrong

Ooooo I drove sooo badly on the lesson before my test and got everything wrong; but my test went fine... I'm just one of those people; My examiner was very warming as well and I didn't even have a minor for about 30 minutes then I lost concentration lol and got 7 :frown: but it's still a good pass .. but that was when I passed..

My last lesson was awful- a complete disaster! My instructor was firing questions at me whilst I was driving and I got confused at one of them whilst approaching a roundabout and just didn't stop! I pulled straight out in front of a blue car and my instructor had to stall me with his little brakey thing :frown: I was so embarassed it was the first time he'd had to use it with me!
As for the test it went really well and I got 3 minors for little observations and things like doing my blindspot check a little too late- don't pull off and check at the same time! So I reckon I got all my bad luck out the way before the test!
