How can that be?

How can be more hungry?

It's the most important meal of the day.

The exact same thing happens to me! If I don't eat breakfast I can quite happily go til lunchtime without eating, if I have brekkie by 10 I'm on the lookout for my next snack

Maybe it whets the appetite or something...I'm sure one of the lovelies on here will have a scientific answer for us

I find that -- if I miss a meal (not that I often miss meals - I like food too much) I'm hungry for an hour or two after when I would have had the meal, and then the hunger goes. However I'd hardly say this is a healthy feeling, probably more like your body going into starvation mode!

I haven't had breakfast in months..

Everyone says I should eat breakfast, so lately I have been trying to, but it makes me hungry a lot quicker. I only had breakfast about 3 hours ago but I am starving now. If I hadn't had breakfast then I would normally be ok now...am I weird?!

no u r not weird, i get that sometimes too.. what breakfast does is that it jumpstarts your body so u might be hungry soon after breakfast. of course it depends what you had for breakfast. eating chocolate flakes with milk and a mars bar is definitely not a good idea:smile: i hate breakfast but i always have a fruit and a big glass of water!

Thanks for the replies. I don't know why it is...I shouldn't be hungry!

Happens to me aswell - I guess it's because the body comes out of starvation mode which it goes into overnight as you haven't eaten for 8+ hours.

So no, you aint weird

Try eating something small but healthy like a yoghurt... that might do the trick!

Depends on what you're eating for breakfast - a lot of cereals leave you feeling hungry a few hours later. Try porridge instead. Or perhaps some scrambled eggs on toast.

As my dad says "the more you eat, the more you eat" If i eat breakfast, I just keep getting hungry. But I do eat breakfast... protein tends to fill me the best. Try peanut butter on toast, eggs, smoothie with protein powder...

werd, youre probably eating the usual commercial breakfast cereal, and/or toast etc. You probably end up hypoglycemic a few hours after those ghey carbs and feel really hungry. As the above post suggests, try porridge or meusli maybe, and eat meat or eggs etc with it too

I just don't have time for it. Doesn't exactly help my concentration in morning lectures, but it's not made me unwell or anything like that.

I think it makes sense cause your metabolism boosts up,I guess if you devide your meals you wouldn't feel hungry, well I noticed that like eat a fruit when you get up and an hour or two later eat cereal or something and then lunch it will help you control yourfood and you'd never even feel hungry

There is an approach to eating used by some athletes, although it immediately receives criticism from those who havent tried it. Basically eating all your food in one large meal, or rather one period of overeating, in the evening, and then eating very little (some veg, SOME lean meats, maybe fruit) during the following day, before "feasting" again in the evening.

Contrary to what you may expect, there is no fatigue and the hunger is not significant. I like how I feel when I practice this way of eating. If anyone is interested PM me or somthing and I can provide loads more info
