LLM at Cambridge
How hard is it to get onto? I am going to apply if I don't get a pupillage in the summer season so I have a back-up plan if I have to reapply the following year.

I believe if you've been at Cambridge for undergrad you need a 2.i but I could be wrong? Someone please correct me if I am.

I think that the minimum grade required is a 67% average; irrespective of university attended.

It says 68% but that is the offer they gave me! Any way, at a lot of law schools 68% and above and most modules at first is a first anyway

How difficult is it really to get a first? As in, does getting a first mean you have to dedicate you're whole life to the subject, without going out, no sports etc.?

Not necessarily clever... do you think that a clever Mathematician would be a good footballer? It depends on your talent for the subject.

I think by "clever", bryan meant clever at the most necessary skills for law (eg: reading, writing, etc.) - not how good you are at playing football, and hence being able to get a first in law school...

I was using the "playing football" as a metaphor - a figure of speech.

Technique plays a key role and, to an extent, good time management. I often get carried away with essays because I enjoy the subject and get a good first for the essay and high 2.1 for the exam, making it a low first overall.
My average is 69% now because of one bad exam mark. My ambition is to get a high first in one of the remaining 4 subjects but they say I'd probably get a first any way with that average and 6 modules at 70% plus
