I'm 17 and i got this nice girls number the other day.

I want to take things further but i don't know the best way to do it.

Should I take her on a one-on-one date, or should I invite her to some public event that might be going on (like someones 18th party for example)?

I'm not particularly experienced in this area (I've never had a proper gf), so a bit of advice on what to do would be very helpfull.
Inviting somebody to an 18th birthday Party isn't what I would class as a 'date' and i'm sure she will think exactly the same.

Do you want her to know she's going on some form of date or what? If you do then do it properly, because this just sounds agonisingly lame.

Seriously, you're the kind of person who'll be posting here in 2 months time with one of those annoying 'we're great friends but now I want to ask her out' threads.

Ye, i think maybe the party would be good, low pressure for a first date.
Not really a date, but excellent for losening up and get the chat going, I say.
