have you ever...

...met someone at a one-off event, had a great conversation, felt that you totally clicked but too shy to get that person's contact details and now there's no way of meeting him/her again?

okay, i met this guy at an interview thing at bath, at first i didn't really pay attention to him but then he started making conversation with me. i was a bit apprehensive at first but it turned out he was actually quite interesting! also i'm a bit shy with guys but i found it was really easy to talk to him and look at him in the eye. it was only for a short while but i felt comfortable with him, us being totally mad about maths helps a lot, too!

in the end we walked together, i went to the bus stop but he had to go on to the car park to meet his parents. so i thought "get his number!" but somehow i just didn't do it. so we both said our goodbyes.. and now i think "what if.."

ARGH!!!!!!!!
end of rant.

Yep I've done that not at an interview though but at a gig I went to. Realistically I probably will never met them again however it is possible providing if you both end up in bath although a very long time away, but you may end up meeting each other yet again

heh yeh - it only hit me when i was walking away from the bus stop where i'd left her..grr - those chance encounters are weird...and she was so nice..lived in london...another little thing to lock away in my little box of regrets...

I did the same thing. I met this real nice girl at work, we spent the day together, had a good laugh, flirted a bit, but come the end of the day I bottled it and so did she and we just went our seperate ways with no means of keeping in touch.

I regretted it, but figured it just happens sometimes and that I was probably blowing it out of proportion, but a week or so later she text me, asking if I fancied meeting up. She'd got my number through friends of friends of friends. That's persistance! 10 months on, we're still in a happy relationship.

I guess that won't be possible seeing as you live further away than we do, but there's hope! Good luck.

The moral though, is it's better to regret doing something than to regret not doing it! That's one for us all.

another thing is i don't know if it's mutual..so maybe i'm just being weird!

this happens all the time. but it isn't always the daring who win. maybe he liked the shyness about you, might ask around and contact you. who knows?

yepp

once met this guy at this party his best friend was having. spent the whole night talking, messing around, getting pissed, i left about 3 and we had a kiss goodbye. he was gorgeou and such a decent guy, but i was so drunk i didn't get his number. this was 2 years ago and i've only seen him once since out in town, but wasn't too sure. later found out he'd said to his best mate he'd recognised me, but was too shy to say hello

SO SO SO SO annoying
It was just friendly conversation. If he really liked you, he would've asked for your number.
well i can relate to that me and laura started as an innocent conversation i was too shy to get her number at first.

Because, as we well know, such is the sole and inexorable prerogative of the male of the species: what utter bilge.
nearly happened with me and my ex when we met at alton towers. i so nearly gave him a fake number...but didnt in the end. glad i didnt otherwise i'd have spent forever in your situation :frown:

Happens to everyone (except me, who thinks that everyone hates her, but that is besides the point), but it's life.

Maybe you'll see him in Bath at some point? Or you'll meet someone who you'll click with just as much?

Yes. She was a Russian girl I met on a train (exchange student) and we got to talking about lots of things, she was very touchy-feely and as I said see ya to her she slid her hand down my chest...she was very attractive too and just a great person. She did have a boyfriend though (Colombian lol) but I also thought she was out of my league. I was also tired from the train journey.

Would have been cool to have talked to her more though.
