Does any one know about Terrapin FTP?

not very much, whats the problem?

i prefer LeechFTP which is ncie.. or in a pinch CuteFTP will do...

hiya. I am registeref with portland.co.uk with a free domain name which is www.davidspage.co.uk Now the problem is that I have uploaded my website using Terrapin, but when I try to view my website, it won't load.

What am i doing wrong? or is there something wrong with portland?

First thing you have to do is create an index.html and upload that to replace the existing index.html page. In other words the page that you see when you access your site is the defauly index.html page, replace this with your own and that will show instead.

Personally I use cuteFTP to upload stuff (nice and easy interface with simple drag and drop) although I've used leap FTP before and found that good enough.

Thank you for your comments. But I have been on portland into the forums and they have a message board on FTP and they say that the freeware server is apparently down.

Hi Daz. I cannot use WS_FTP98 LE becuase it won't let me

There's nothing wrong with me using Terrapin, becuase the servers are down at portland!!!!

Portland are a terrible host, I had countless problems with them in the past, http://www.brinkster.com are pretty decent as far as free website hosts go. They give you a long domain name but http://www.cjb.net will fix that little problem.

WS_FTP is probably the best ftp on the market, but again I have had troubles with that like you seem to have had.

I am now ith brinkster.com and I have successfully uploaded my website. it is http://www15.brinkster.com/davidspage1

Now I have to figure out how to upload my pics!!!!!!!!1
