complete mind block i cant remember how to do it is it 2/2x therefore 1/x

Let u = 2x => du/dx = 2
Let y = ln(2x) = lnu => dy/du = 1/u
:. d/dx[ln(2x)] = (1/u) * 2 = 2/(2x) = 1/x

So yes.
Alternatively ln(2x) = ln2 + lnx. lnx is the only variable with the usual derivative.
