Do guys say things they dont mean?

Right, I feel really childish for having to say this but i just want to hear it from a lads point of view. I know there has been loads of threads related to similar silly problems but i just wanted to know, do lads say things if they completely dont mean it?
Say for example if a girl went back to your flat ( no sex involved) and you said i had a really good time we should do this again and then gave the girl your number( without her asking) and told her to text you and then you didnt reply is this a sign that you were just being polite and you dont like her? You see the thing is i met an old friend ( somemone i havent seen in years) and he invited me back so i went, things went well and i did have a good time and i would definitely consider meeting up with him again, but ive texted him once in a week and hes made no contact so should i just leave it and forget about it or ring him or ...?

Lol i know silly question but i need some advice !
Thanks in advance xxxxx

i always say 3 chances...text him twice more and if he doesn't reply then he is a tosser and not worth it. There could have been a technical fault with the first message or he did not have credit or a whole multitude of reasons other than that he was lying!

Any other ideas?x
Just call him?
All guys are different, so you can't generalise on these things. If you want to see him again, then give him a call and see what he says - seems like a simple and obvious solution to me.

Calling isnt going to sound obsessive? Yet then again i suppose the worst that can happen is he says no and then i will just leave him alone.

No, it's not going to sound obsessive, it will just let him know that you enjoyed his company so much that you want to see him again, and as you said the worst thing that he could do would be to say no.

He's either shy (unlikely as he asked for your number in the first place), met another girl, was being polite or is just a bloke and he will get in touch with you in a month.

Imagine if he wasn't into her, how awkward would it be?! No, the balls in his court.

So what? It's only awkwardness - it's better to know one way or another than just keep worrying what he thinks.

Lol he gave me his number so i texted him saying had good time etc this is my no, and no reply yet! He does seem genuinely like a nice lad, but you never know! you see i knew i needed some advice! What about ringing him sometime when im on a night out ( that way i will have some dutch courage!!) ?
Just ring him and stop worrying about it - the worst that can happen is that he'll say no. Plus, there's no point beating around the bush trying to play games if you want to see him again.

I'm in a similar situation to yourself... bloody hate blokes who don't get in touch for ages, I'm sure they don't even think (lol, obsess) about it as much as girls do, but its really annoying!

Women lie just as much as men. Infact, it's down to the individual.

Okk so say youre a bloke, you met a girl ( you did all the moves) and she texted you a week ago and then rang you, you wouldnt be thinking shes some kinda of wierdo? Lol its soo much easier for men!!
No, I wouldn't think she's a weirdo - I'd be flattered that she enjoyed my company and would like to meet me again.

He might not have got your text. Maybe his phone is switched off? Maybe he has no cred? Maybe he's busy? Maybe he read it, thought 'oh i'll text her in a bit' and then forgot?

Just call. That way, he can't avoid you (if thats what he's doing). You can tell a lot from someones tone, so if he's offhandish, you know to leave it there. If however he's pleased, then arrange to meet up. Good luck!
