Now hate pure vodka!

Okay so I've been drinking vodka and coke for a couple years now, and it really is the only drink I focus on since it gets me drunk quick and is a cheaper way then buying lots of alcopops or beer. The problem is I feel like I'm gonna throw it back up now, even when it's mixed with coke or orange juice (things like that). Yet I can drink alcopops, which have vodka in them, no problem. I just can't stomach the vodka.

Is anyone else like this? Maybe my body has accustomed and grown tired to the vodka and wants me to switch from the vodka coke/orange scenario?

that hasn't happened me, but hope it never does! Have you tried drinking different spirits, and does the same thing happen with them?

Well, I've never been able to drink vodka and something as it makes me sick, but I can drink premixed alcopops fine! Maybe you're just like me :smile:

Try Vodka with Lemonade. I find it takes the taste of the vodka away somewhat (judging by your post, this is what you want to happen).

Why drink just to get drunk? Drink a drink you actually like so you enjoy/remember the evening and don't spend half the fooker down the toilet

I'm similar but only with shots - when we were younger we'd down stupid amounts of straight spirits, and now I find it really hard to take shots, its quite embarrassing! I'm fine with mixed drinks tho.

I think it's possible the mixers could be causing you the problems here though! Coke is gassy, which could cause your stomach to feel dodgy, and orange is acidic, so likewise. I've always found vodka&orange much more sickly than any other drink.

so switch to a different drink. If it has to be spirits, try a nice whiskey or something. I agree with TrentEnd on this one though..

I used to drink a lot of vodka and coke. It was my main drink. Now I can't stand it,and even a sip of it makes me feel really ill! Serves me right for drinking it too much :rolleyes:

Well alcopops are only made with something like 12% vodka so they are easy to drink. Plus they're only about 5% vol. I mean, you can't even taste the vodka in them! Straight vodka shots are what get me. Especially Absolut Vodka :puke:

That stuff is awful tasting.

Whiskey or rum. Mmm.

When i was necking it pure, i was holding my nose, it helps, do you remember that at paul's, and paul came into the kitchen and goes "******* hell!" hes drunk 3/4 of the bottle :laugh:

I suggest something called Absynthe which I had a few weeks ago:

"Absynth is a green Liquer which is made from a blend of Alcahol, Liquerish, Anaseed & Wormwood (which is a mildly hallucinegenic bitter plant used to tread people with parasites throughout history) and has an alcahol content of 75 to 95% depending on the blend and make.
It was banned many years ago because it was thought to make people crazy, It has since been legalised in the UK but is still very much illigal in The United States. "

If you want to get drunk, this will do the job!

i get hideously drunk on one shot of absinthe- it's evil. It also removes my ability to talk for about half an hour, and after that only in a raspy beppe di marco voice.
