Today a person greeted their friend by saying what appeared to be, "wag one".

This is the first time I have had this slang term, could someone please say what it means?

It's a Jamaican phrase. Pretty much saying "what's going on" but pronounced "wah gwan".
If you don't hear Caribbean people say it you'll probably hear people who think that they're black say it.

I believe it means "to fellate a man" ... unless you mean "Wagwan" which is a Patois dialect for "What's going on?". It originates from the Africans who were being taught English by the slave traders.
