Pills

Does anybody do 'pills' (as in E) within a social group of friends, say, once a week on a night out?

I'm not saying I do or don't. Just because I'm anonymous it doesn't mean I do. I'm just interested in if anybody else does.

oh god now i haven't got a death wish.
Ask the guy in the General Discussion forum who discussed his E-taking....

Can't remember his name though!

NeverMindThat, that's his name!

No - a friend of mine died after a bad E.

He used to be really into recreational drug use, but his girlfiend managed to clean him up. They got engaged and he made the mistake of inviting some of his old druggie friends to the party.

As a 'present' they slipped 2 E's into his beer while he wasn't looking. He never came round.

Have you seen teh pictures of Leah Betts that caused a media moral panic in the 90s ? E is incredibly dangerous - i dont care what people say about "oh only taking it once to try it will be ok" etc... its dangerous and people die from even their first taking. Its a stupid thing to do.

It's a personal choice there are good and bad things to consider. A lot of my friends have taken them and some still do i've no problem with it...but don't take them myself never really been intrested.

And the good things are? Nice ride to the morgue? Pleasant ambulance journey?

Surely you druggies can just get pissed like the rest of us!

That is really really awful.

That is pure stupidity on the friends' part though, and I dont think a good reflection on the drugs.

How many times is this argument going to go around? You get the same points being made every time its really frustrating reading the threads! And yet somehow enthralling... so I read them anyway! :p:

Still cant help but laugh when I see the ******* of this forum constantly stating their utter ignorance as to why 'druggies' simply dont get pissed!

wrong wrong wrong wrong. Your the same idiots who know nothing about war or religion but claim there all dangerous and we should find WMD's (do at least some research please!!!)

I QUOTE FROM A GOOD SOURCE. Read it

"The risk of death from Ecstasy use is extremely low. Between 1988 and 1997 some 50-100 UK deaths have been connected to Ecstasy use. The current rate is 7 deaths per million users per year. More people die fishing or eating peanuts".

I think thats quite good odds.
The thing that killed 75% of those people was the over drinking of water because they where dancing and hot, the water put pressure on their brain and they died.

Leah betts died because she drank to much water and overheated, not because the one pill she took killed her. Media hype.

More people die each weekend from smoking and drinking alone than the total of people ever to take E.

THIS IS NOT A REASON TO TAKE IT, JUST A STATEMENT THAT WHAT HE/SHE IS SAYING IS CRAP

worse drug on earth........ alcohol, it pickles ur body, and destroys, not one organ but every single one, all at the same time, getting hammered is worse than taking 5 pills, the side effects ive felt after a heavy night drinking are twice as bad as a heavy night on pills.

Well, I'm going to take the apparently unpopular stance here. I do pills occasionally.

My view is, perhaps, a little jaded due to surroundings and past experiences. A lot of people find E to be a shocking and dangerous drug, but to me it's comparatively insignificant.

A lot of kids from my school are into horrid things (Meth, ketamine, etc), and most of them I find STUPID.

But.. I find drinking stupid. I mean, I'm a social drinker. But I don't really like alcohol. I don't like the taste or effects. Does anyone really enjoy drinking to the purpose of becoming inebriated? I hate feeling drunk, I just feel useless, and I'm far too agreeable a drunk. Bad things result!

The biggest thing separating drink and drugs like pot and E is, for most people, law. Then morals. I personally wouldn't avoid something solely because it's illegal, and I don't have outstanding moral standards. I'm just not as good a person as many others. I see nothing wrong with pot when compared with alcohol. I smoke it sometimes but I've never bought it because, again, I don't enjoy the high.

I do E on occasion because I DO enjoy the high. I feel that I am able to decide which drugs I enjoy and which I don't or are not worth the risk.

Most negative things I've read regarding E use on the internet is just overreaction from those who have never experienced it themselves. I look at it logically, weigh risks, and have only ever felt that I have gained from the experience. The only thing that might make me more comfortable drinking than taking E is that it's legal to drink (or will be when I turn 19).

Please also note... there will almost never be enough of any potent or dangerous substance in a pill to harm you, let alone kill you. Your biggest risk is wasting your time and money on a pill that has no effect.

I truly believe that everyone should make their OWN decisions based on actual information and, hopefully, experience within reason. There's a lot of crap information and rumours out there. If you don't want to smoke a spliff or take a pill because you honestly wish to respect the law, your religion doesn't tolerate it, or you have problems with the ethics, that should be respected. Similarly, if someone weighs the risks in all seriousness and still uses moderately, I do not see a problem. However, this is a fine line for many.

It's best to make an attempt to be well-educated before you make a decision either way.

Apologies for the long-winded post, it's a baaaad habit.

I took loads of them, and had a god damn awesome time doing while doing them. I kept my job, i got good grades and have some memories i'll remember forever.

I'm in uni now, though, so i'll leave them to the festivals.

There's threads in the past on pills, they pretty quickly become a suckfest to read, so enjoy the thread. I'd just reccomend you read up on whatever you plan to do to your body, and have a good time, regardless of your choices.
ALOT of people take 'E' when they go out and nothing terrible happens, there's only a small chance of dying form taking it.

Im personally terrified of any kind of recreational drug and alchol as many of my dad's and mum's family members whom i loved alot died or are really ill from drug taking, smoking and alchol abuse. I still drink ocasionally but i never drink till im pissed.

Last year after going out clubbing i stayed over at a friends house and in the middle of the night she woke me up crying saying she kept having these muscle spasms all over her body that were getting worse by the minute. I drove her to the hospital and she confessed to having taken E that night, at the hospital the doctor told me she would be ok but she had a v.small heamorage which they thought was a possible pregnancy, later it was confirmed she was 2 months along but they baby was fine. It was a horrible night as i was not allowed to be with her while they calmed her down and i really thought she was going to die. She now has had her baby and is really happy, but when I see that baby and her i still think what could have happend. Now if i see poeple who im with taking E I leave.

There are millions of threads associated with this subject. I suggest you read them. I also suggest you do some reading on the effects of E, the effects of drinking too much water and dancing all night long. For some people, the anti - E/Leah Betts message that was trotted out was held to be true until realisation hit that people were not dying in droves after taking it. It thsi were the case then clubs would be littered with bodies at 6am.

I will play Switzerland here and say if you wish to take it (first time), ensure you are with people you know, trust and have some experience of the drug. You have no idea how you will react to it. It is up to you what you put into your body, not knowing the full contents of the drug, therefore the consequences are yours to deal with.
What no-one seems to mention is the more likely problem of neurone damage and serotonin depletion, that can result in bad memory, depression and so forth. When you're young these things don't seem to sound bad and this future seems way off. But regular use can result in these problems in later life that will then become important.

It's not a good idea to use ecstasy on a weekly basis because of this. Also, it's no fun for you because eventually the effect becomes less euphoric and you need more to achieve an effect, therefore experiencing more of the not-so-lovely things like feeling monged out, nystagmus (eye wobbles), trissmus (jaw clenching and shaking) and gurning. Gurning also looks extremely unattractive!

I (still...sigh) work in a nightclub and you can the druggies a mile off. I have to admit most of them don't die but that doesn't mean there are no bad effects. People start drugs to get a high. Simple enough. After a while though, you can't be happy without the pill. That doesn't mean it's a physical addiction (though some of them are), it's psychological. A certain person I worked with walked around with the look of death on him for half the shift and was a ray of sunshine for the other half. Have a guess why?
