bread and soup :p:

Soup - liquids are easier to keep down than solids

hope he feels better soon!

Dry Toast can be quite nice.

Ah thanks!

Yes soup is a good idea, I hadn't thought of that.. I'll find out his favourite type, so long as it's nothing too exciting..

Soup, some nice bread (could also be toasted), lucozade and digestives - all on the shopping list!

(by the way. anyone know Helenia's secret, she seems to watch all threads simultaneously! )

Custard or soup is the best to give a sick person who is just starting to eat again.

Custard on it's own? Mightn't that be a bit sickly? *shrug* He said he had cravings for sugary drinks though so maybe.. ^o)

you could try porridge or rice pudding???

Tomato Soup

Hmm, we had porridge last weekend, though rice pudding is an idea. He did say he liked tomato soup

I think I'm going to have to make a decision at somepoint - I can't give him all this stuff! Perhaps I'll just take it all and then he can have whatever he feels like most!
Dont make him eat though, if he's still not feeling up to it, badgering him might not be the best thing especially with a tummy bug. and liquidy food could be the worse thing. nothing worse than sloshing foods when you already feel ill

Yeah I'm not planning on forcing him, just want to slowly get him back to eating something - he must be completely empty! And it'd explain why he's so exhausted and has to keep lying down :frown:

Fortunately his landlady is a medic, so she's been giving some good advice

Thanks for the thought
If he has a really bad stomach (like he's throwing up a lot) give up some REAL coke (the drink.) This replaces the salts and the sugars that he has lost whilst throwing up and should help his stomach to settle.
Make sure he only takes little sips and the cola is slightly flat.
I know what you mean, when i was staying at my bfs the other week he had flu and wasnt eating, but you cant make them. And they actually say to starve a fever. (might not be so true, but it always works for me)

dry toast is a good place to start, or just bread. you must know what its like, sloshing stomaches can make you feel ill even if you arent to begin with.

Hum, the boyfriend's not feeling very well at all (he's either got a stomach bug or had food poisoning) and I want to get him eating something again tomorrow...

I know bland food is best, but any suggestions? Perhaps some pasta, that's pretty bland..

I'm also going to give him some lucozade as it's meant to get energy levels back up..

:frown:

Chicken tikka samber, maybe even a vindaloo; it's hard to say....

Do you see what I did there? I suggested something that is the very polar opposite of what was asked for! Oh the mirth....
My boyfriend had a stomach bug/food poisoning last weekend, and definitely go for the soup and just a bit of bread at first. Then slowly bring him up to maybe a bit of toast and cheese, then some pasta, etc etc.
