If you HAD TO choose between the two, which one would you be more inclined to have as 1st choice? And why? For me, the academic quality of a university is far more important than the nightlife and sport etc. This is why i would probably lean towards City more than Brunel.

Accounting/economics area. Don't mention Cass too much though.

For business related, City is better by a mile becasue they professionalise in that area.
Brunel is pants. They spend £millions trying to make the place look more attractive, but don't really have much academic pedigree.

i go to brunel and i admit it still looks ugly, despite the money spent. But its facilities are better than City could even dream of. i agree that City is better academically for business and econ though.
Still looking to see what course it is.
If I had to choose one of them then I'd go with City - I'd say that it has a better academic reputation and a better location, and hence better access to the parts of London I'd want to see and experience.

maybe i should have made it clearer...by 'better facilities' i mean in terms of sports, leisure, restaurants etc, and specialist scientific laboratory equipment etc.
in terms of technical facilities such as computing and lecture theatre equipment, sure City has it all.
..and yes i have been to the new social sciences building. pretty good stuff.

leisure well...your 10 minutes walk from angel itself which has all the leisure facilities and restaraunts you could ever want. cass and the new social sciences building both have much more than the basic essentials needed for each department. for sport, there's a gym around the corner which has just had £500,000's worth of new gym equipment as well as tennis, squash, basketball courts and everything else. The only thing it lacks is a swimming pool. Academically it is better too.

Law is a social science i think. So law students should be in the new Social Sciences building. i've been there and it's great (although it does seem quite small). i hope to be there next year.

Is there a significant difference between both universities?
Generally Brunel is rated higher than City, however City is well known for Business subjects.
If your talking about Law which i'm interested in I'd say both are at equal levels but City has the advantage
of having links with the Inns of court. Brunel from my observations seems more "studenty" where as City is a
university for the professions and less student orientated. I regret not applying to City for Law because I was
swayed by the league tables, but hopefully I'll like Brunel.
