Does anyone else feel like this when you nap in the afternoon?
Quite often I will fall asleep accidently whilst watching tv or in school or whatever. When I wake up I feel TERRIBLE. It's like a hungover feeling. I have a really deep, throbbing headache and my head feels heavy, dizzyness, and my teeth feel weird.
This can usually be overcome by eating something sugary and drinking plenty of water.
I used to, but now I've become amazingly accustomed to napping! I have no lectures in the afternoon and am often tired after a late night, so have a nap for a couple of hours. I think that if doesn't usually happen if you only nap when you're actually tired - then you feel refreshed when you wake up, rather than rubbish.
I've struggled many times not to fall asleep in school, but normally only when a boring teacher of a boring subject (eg History, English, French, Science) is droning on. Usually in the summer, I'll get home, sit down, and fall asleep. Don't worry - we all need a little siesta every now and then
I hate waking up after a nap. I had a nap today and wok up about 2 hours ago and Im only just starting to feel better again. As you said try drinking something sugary and move about a bit. It will pass. The best thing is not to need to nap during the day in the first place!
I used to sleep all the time coming back from sixth form, once I woke up early evening, so confused, that I walked down stairs and made myself breakfast and sat watching tv, I then got confused why the morning news wasn't on, my family loved it *embarassed*
napping seems to be a regular occurence amongst students, i find drinking water before dozing off helps with the grogginess afterwards
does anyone who has replied to this smoke alot of cannabis by any chance? its just its prone to make yo doze of anywhere.
Not me.
I seriously can't help it. I will be watching tv and my eyes are so heavy and I can't concentrate that I think, oh its ok, i'll just listen to it for a while. So I close my eyes, 2 seconds later im in the land of nod.
My naps range from 1/2 hour to 2 hrs. I feel **** every time.
but...i would suggest if you feel that you always need a suagary drink or something, maybe get a blood test for diabetes. i drink ALOT of squash and tend to nap quite a bit, and my doctors thought it could be diabetes at one point..but it wasn't, so still unexplained!
but i love sleeping (and drinking) so it doesn't bother me!
I'm really worried I have diabetes (need to pee all the time, put on weight with no real reason) but i dont wanna check it out cos im stupid and scared.

Arghhh don't say that. I'm worried I might have diabetes.
I don't really have an medical knowledge of the condition but sometimes during sport I can get very dizzy faint - and have been sick (could this be a sign of lacking sugar).
I don't want to go and have a test because if it is diabetes I really don't want to know! - which again is stupid.

doubt its that serious, go to the docs anyway and explani it all, they may suggest changes in your diet or more exercise. Gio and get advice, or call NHS direct
