I really want to lose weight

Basically the thing is, i'm not hugely fat (only a size 12) but i could do with losing some weight, the problem is, though i am not really a fussy eater, the food at uni is so limited, the only thing they serve that i like are chips and jacket potatoes. I can't live on chips on jacket pototoes. I have tried going to the gym a few times with my boyfriend but really hate it and won't go on my own, I have just joined the dance club which will be a bit of exercise but really not enough. How can i lose weight without starving myself bearing in mind i can't go into town to get healthy food cos it costs £10 each way in a taxi and no buses.
stick some tunes on in your room and do some starjumps. And you could maybe team up with some other students and do an online shop at asda etc and get free delivery.

you dont always have to work out at a gym, most do classes that you can go to like aerobics or yoga which are really good excersise. you could also do swimming which is a great all over body workout. try differnt forms of excersise

I think gyms are boring... I recommend you find a sport at a leisure centre or uni gym and take that up, it'll be more fun. Health food is nonsense anyway... go on... some kind of... bran flakes diet or some nonsense! lol

Have you tried not eating so many pies?
Buy a gym ball! However, don't do what I did last night and use one on the edge of a bed, it will end in tragedy (I ended up with my legs over my head on the floor... lol).

Have you got a bike? You could go on bike rides. Cycling really helps to tone legs and stomach.

yeah i'm having this. i vowed to my mum earlier that i refuse to let myself go up a clothes size [you know when you try stuff on which is dodgily measured and you just feel faaaat] and she got really worried. i'm really not fat [8-12hips], but meh. i hate overhang and stuff on me. but i love my chocolate and junk food, and there's only one type of exersise i like... which just isn't happening atm..

i can't stop my drinking! it's the only way i have enough confidence to talk to the people who could be my exersise buddies in the future. haha

make yourself to go for gym
I know exactly what you mean again im anything between an 8-12 - dress sizes are crap they should make sizes 9+11 already, im untoned and have huuge thighs, like a rugby player!!! I love pasta and im a pescatarian so red meats out the window (*its a taste thing for me!), and also i hate going to the gym on my own, its also too expensive when youre a student. My boyfriend hates the gym, he went once and now makes excuses everytime - hes perfect weight - thin but not scrawny, so he doesnt have to go! Try and appease him with things he likes, i had to offer to watch wrestlign for mine - god help me!
Exercise is the best way! Why dont you invest in an exercise dvd, i know some of them are rubbish, but they are hilarious! Im currently loving pump it up - it makes me cringe so much (call on me dance!) but you feel it working and it helps with your confidence as i actually cant dance, im hopeless, i normally just shake my hips and thats me! Its easy enough to do in your own room and you can smack it on whenever you feel low!
Team sports are also a great way, esp at uni/college as its free and you can meet new people! Walking is good if you dont do that already, its free and you can get a bunch of you to walk to the shops for shopping, saving moneys of taxi's!
Exercise classes are brill too! Its great that youre doing dancing, its so good for you and fun posing like fools! Id deffo reccommend kick-boxing its fantastic i tried it for 2 months twice a week and toned up so quickly - like after a few weeks, but i couldnt keep it up as i had to work on those days to earn money!

Good luck honey! Hope it all works out okay x - woah this is a long post!

walk to the town and go back ,exercise+you've bought the food you've wanted, and dance classes are good try to walk everywhere, you'll enjoy the view and at the same time will do exercise, I hate going to the gym sometimes as it takes alot of time going there coming back, but try what I'e told you, if you can't get healthy food be concious when you eat, like limit your portions and make your snacks few, if you do an activity you wont think about food

stop making excuses

you need to eat properly, and do exercise.

eating : order food on the interweb. tesco deliver for £5; cheaper than going into town ? that doesnt seem right but whatever.

make sandwiches/lunch (pasta in some tupperware is good) so you dont have to rely on the crappy canteen food.

exercise : well, for most people its not very pleasant. but it has to be done. go to the gym, or go running in the mornings/evenings. or even do purposeful exercise; like, isntead of getting the bus to town, cycle. or something.
