Can someone help me answer these questions i'm having trouble with?

1. A father is 7 times as old as his daughter. In 5 years time he will be 4 times as old as his daughter will be then. How old is each one now?

2. John's mother is 5 times as old as John is. Three years ago, she was 9 times his age. What are their present ages?

3. A straight line ax + by = 12 contains the points (2,2) and (4,5). Form two equations in a and b and solve them.

Thanks.

1. F = 7D and F+5 = 4(D+5)

Solve for F and D

2. M = 5J and M-3 = 9(J-3)

Solve for M and J

3. ax+by=12 has points (2,2) and (4,5). Put in the values to get

2x+2y = 12 and 4x+5y = 12

Solve for x and y.
