I don't care if some of you Westerners say it's crap but I absolutely love anime and I have a large collection of different anime such as Naruto, Full Metal Panic, Rurouni Kenshin, Scrapped Princess etc....

I also love anime, it is truely a great art form, although unfortunately it has been corrupted, and produced the likes of the hyper marketed, drivel that appeals to children, and for that reason, is translated from the orginal language, the song speak of the japanese.

Yea, the moment it leaves Japan, it is totally destroyed. Examples would be DBZ and Pokémon. Yi-Gi-Oh and Beyblade as well but them 2 are crap anyways. Toonami is such a disrespect to proper anime.
Cartoons are quality, I still enjoy them even at 18. The Simpsons has to be the best ever though, yet I'd regard it as less a cartoon and more a sitcom...

unfortunately not.

I would reckon that from what I've seen, the 4 best anime series has to be:

1)cowboy bebop

2)trigun

3)hellsing

4)read or die

Have any of you seen any one them, as they really are brilliant.

another one I am getitng at the moment is final fantasy unlimited, which is just amazing.

family guy is great, but as Juwels mentioned could be classed as more of a sitcom

I admit that the simpons is a very good series, as in futurama, although others, which claim to be more adult orientated, such as south park, remain to be a slur to cartoons, with shoddy animation, foul language, and about as much appeal as a rabid dog

I find anime embarrassing at times, the way the Japanese depict young females makes me cringe occasionally .

I like comedic cartoons such as The Simpsons and Family Guy, ones with more mature humour than toilet jokes and anvils being dropped on people/animals. The anime Initial D is the only one I own, that's quite fun . In Japanese with subs, of course.

love anime, but i must say i prefer it when its dubed, as then you have more time to admire the artists skills. Currantly have several mangas, and will have several anime dvds when i nick back my parents dvd player
p.s, unfortunatly, once dubed, the characters usually have stupid accents, the but thankfully not all.
p.s.s, pokemon is still great, the game rocks after all these years, will be getting leaf green or fire red, haven't decided which one yet though!

I've never heard of those cartoons, where you from?
I watch the simpsons, they're absolutely great, all the american cartoons basically, british cartoons are actually shite, think about it what are the british cartoons

Well, I quite like DBZ, esp. the early stuff- and since the PS2 games sell so well, it must be popular. Evidently people do like cartoons, but as someone mentioned earlier, anime is being ruined by so called 'cute' programs- I'm thinking of hamtaro.

All I'm saying is I don't partically like the anime squarely aimed at kids. I used to, but that was when I was a kid, I have moved on.

I think dubbing ruins anime, I just like watching an anime in japanese with english subtitles, or, in the case of akira, watching it in japanese with norwegen sub-titles.

Am I the only person that finds how girls are portrayed in anime a bit weird/perverted?

What's the difference between hentai and anime...sorry for my ignorance....but are they just different styles of drawing cartoons?
