Its not terrible but its more about learning facts and stuff, if you get a couple of past papers youll realise pretty quick its about understanding a concept then applying it more or less.
If you want to self learn it, its best that you get that orange edexcel book with astrophysics in the back because astrophysics is generally a very broad topic therefore its important that you know what it is you need to learn.

I did it last year, and basically there are about 5 set questions which if you learn teh answers to will get you good marks, as some of them are bound to come up. If you learn in deatail how stars go supernova, the advantages/disadvantages of CCDs and a couple of others (look at past papers) you'll be fine. The only trick they always seem to do (which i missed out on) is the questions are neasrly always given in km, when the equations require m.
