You will have to go to the IAE (Independant Advice Unit) to get an application form. The IAE is on the top floor of the Students Union. Basically you want to get your application in during Freshers or 2nd week, but there are usually jobs cropping up all the time in the first semester. By the 2nd most have gone. Sooner you get your application the quicker you will get a job and the more likely, lol!

I work as a Entertainments Technician in the union, which basically means i set up the union technically (sound/lighting/stage) for each night. Its a really cool job, and you get to hang with bands like The Coral backstage. Very cool!

Hey Graham!
That sounds like a cool job! You see, the reason why i want to work in the union is that i'd be amongst my friends and get to listen to the brilliant music. What better job could there be? Lol
I think i will apply during freshers - whats the pay like (i expect its not brilliant, but okay for pocket money).

Pay is ****, minimum wage £4.25/hour.

Ents Tech is an awesome job, the hours are bad (5pm-5am)but it makes up for it by having free entry into the union, meeting The Coral, Rachel Stevens (**** yeh!), The Levellers, Reel Big Fish and The Subways. Awesome.

There is a staff party (aka after party) after every major night which is Wednesday and Friday, which is really cool, free drinks baby! Plus you get to hang with the bouncers, possibly the funniest people ever!

Yeh, so if you like electronics and making stuff work then Ents Tech is for, if you like pouring pints and talking to drunk people then become a barman! lol!

Graham
If you want better pay, you could work for CFM instead. It's not really bar work though (unless you work at Union Square).

What other jobs are avalible at Keele?like inside the uni complex?
Is it possible to get a job at the Post Office on campus?

Don't think so...worth asking tho, especially if you have experience!

Graham
I live in a Post Office so do have some experience!

It's not possible to work in the post office, it is staffed by two Post Office employees.

For more money (though possible fewer hours) try other bars on Campus. I know the Pig and Rat (Barnes Hall) were paying their staff £5 per hour last year.
