Smelly wetness during foreplay/intercourse...

When I get wet during foreplay with my boyfriend (we haven't had sex and we're both virgins), my vaginal juices have a very strong smell and I get self conscious about it, as it's not very plesant. The smell even lingers on his hand after he's washed it if he fingers me and I notice it.
The other day he even joked around about how bad the smell was and sprayed some air freshener about the room. It made me feel a bit self-conscious and I have since been considering what to do.
I first noticed it back in September last year, but never thought any more of it.

It's never bothered me before but it has now as he doesn't like giving me oral sex because it's bad, however when I have normal discharge throughout the month it doesn't smell - it's only when I get horny and wet.

I was thinking that I might have undiagnosed BV, but I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the problem or if they've had this before?

Go see a doctor. Smelly discharge is a sign something isn't right.

She's not talking about discharge though...
to the OP: you do wash regularly down there, don't you? If you don't, then start pronto!! If you do, then as the poster immediately after you has said, then do go to a doctor.

Go see a doctor, it shouldn't smell bad at all. It should have a slight fishy smell but it should wash of his hands even without soap.

1) Go to a doctor, it sounds as though something isn't right.

2) Your boyfriend sounds like a complete w*nker, joking about something you feel bad about, no offence.

It may seem like a weird question, but what is your diet like?
are u sure u arednt just paranoid (no offence) but it does have a natural smell and alot of women are self concious of it.

tbh cum doesnt smell that great either tho. air freshener is def the way to go imo
yeah thats out of order, not going to make you relaxed for sex and not trusting- think that is key to healthy sex and he should be supporting you not bullying you. i would go to a doctor it could be thrush.

If you dont already, maybe try washing 'down there' (dont use soap or anything, that might make it worse) before you engage in any sexual activity with your bf, if you still notice it then you need to see your doc or nurse.

To be honest, I dont think your bf is helping the situation though, making you feel self conscious and reacting the way he does will just make you feel less confident about yourself.

You can get special 'intimate washes' as well, which aren't soap, but work in a similar way, and are probably more effective than just water.

It's the same thing effectively.

Correct me if I am wrong but these sort of things can cause thrush and will just cover up the smell - but you've still got a problem there.... it could be quite serious - go to the doctor and sort it out! Your body is telling you there is something wrong!!!

i've heard soap and stuff *there* can irritate it and CAUSE infections or upset the acidity of it.

i thought the inside was self clensing.

also, if there is a coloured discharge there probably is infection. a cheeese like lumpy discharge means thrush

it could be thrush, the others are right, the odour shouldn't be that strong but it does smell though (nothing like roses either ) so don't worry.just go see a doctor to make sure everything's ok :hugs:
