if you have already paid the deposit and everything and have signed the online agreement, I don't think you will lose the booking, but then again I'm not sure. But I highly doubt they will want to lose a new tenant who has paid the deposit and everything. My advice would be to upload those pending documents as soon as possible and to email gradpad as well. Even if you lose your booking and they return your deposit, you can book all over again. There's still plenty of rooms still available it seems.

I cannot print the agreement in the GradPad Accommodation Offer! Is anyone having the same problem? I think this is suspicious...

There is a 'print agreement' button on the top right if that helps.
Also, there will be a copy of your agreement in your student portal, so you can always go there and read/print it out.

The button is not working. That's why I am worried...

I would suggest asking in the Facebook group. Just search for "Wood lane studios"

Have you guys checked the reviews for Wood lane and gradpad?

I'm reluctant to just go off what the university accommodation department says, or what the private hall's marketing material is trying to say to me.

I've used hall bookers to check out some reviews, and I think I may be booking student castle through it after speaking to a really nice guy on the phone from hallbookers who had loads to tell me.

I live in Wood Lane right now. Feel free to ask if there's anything you want to know.

It's pretty far (about 35 minutes by tube to South Ken) and the rooms are pretty small for the price, but otherwise everything is perfect. I can't really find anything else to complain about .

Hi, I was just wondering how restricted is the view for the Bronze Studios at Wood Lane? I also heard that there are free shuttle provided by Imperial to South Ken Campus, are they reliable?

Thanks

Sorry I have never been in a restricted view room, so I can't tell you that.

The free shuttles are reliable, but sometimes they will be full (in the morning) and you'll have to take the next one, unless you start queuing early. I usually only take it if I'm going at non-peak hour (and I almost never have to go during peak hour, so that's fine).

Great! Do you like it so far there? What are your pros and cons in terms of facilities, transport links and proximity to amenities? I'm having a hard time deciding between Wood Lane or Griffon.

I like it quite a lot. Facilities-wise it has everything I need (laundry, gym, nice and big common room), and everything is new and clean. Can't really think of a con... doesn't have a swimming pool?.

Transport links are also pretty good. It's about 5 minutes to Central Line. Central Line is very frequent (3 minutes), and takes you all along Oxford Street. Lot's of restaurants and shops, and West End. You can also transfer at Nottinghill Gate (3 stations on Central Line), which gets you onto all other interesting lines. It does take a while to get to Imperial, though (Griffon takes about the same amount of time from what I heard).

Westfield is about 10 minutes walk and it's the largest mall in London (I think?), so it's got quite a few things. However, besides that, there aren't many interesting things nearby. There's a small convenience store across the street with basic stuff (groceries).

Strangely, I don't actually know anyone at Imperial that lives at Griffon. I know many people living at Wood Lane, and a few at Orient House. The main reason why I chose WL over Griffon is because the Griffon area seems to be a little sketchy. Just rumours. I have no idea if that's actually true. Also, having Westfield nearby is convenient.

Hi,
There is a huge construction site in front of wood lane right now (Imperial West). Is it noisy ? It seems that the construction is at its beginning and it might be a huge problem during this year !

They don't work through the night, so it's not too bad. I don't really notice any noise, but then I'm on the far side.

Ok, that's a good news, nevertheless the fact that the work is at its beginning do not reinsures me. What would be, in you opinion, the pros and the cons between Griffon and Wood Lane ?

I didn't see much benefits for Griffon, which is why I chose WL. Commute may be slightly shorter (if you go to Imperial), but it's not by that much.

WL is much better connected to the tube system, closer to everything (esp. Westfield), and the area seems to be safer (judging by Google Streetview of the area around Griffon). It's also newer.

If you are very noise-sensitive, maybe the construction site is a con? That said, Griffon has Clapham Junction right next to it. Not sure how noisy it is.

I actually don't know anyone at Imperial who lives at Griffon (and I know people who live at Pure and Orient House, and many at Wood Lane, even though we didn't meet at Wood Lane).

Hmm.. That's an hard choice ! Thank you for your answer. How long does it takes to go to Imperial from Wood Lane (do you use the private shuttle) ? And ss there a close supermarket or we have to walk a long way with bags of food ?
