A friend of mine gave me the number of her brothers uni mate, because she said that we had a lot in common and would get along. We do, really well in fact and have been texting for almost 2 months now. We havent met,(we have seen photos of each other) but we have had text sex. Do you think that is stupid, or is this just a good way to get rid of much unwanted, and frustrating sexual tension with a good mate?

Nope, nothing to be ashamed of IMO...I do it now and again with random guys through text club numbers which i found in the ad section of Cosmo, so slightly different situation. I'm a well-rounded person, got amazing social life which involves real people too (!), studying for my degree bla bla bla...so for me it's just a bit of harmless (dirty) fun. If you're single and horny then it's a great way to have some fun, relieve your frustration and it stops you sleeping around, which some people may resort to I'm guessing when they find themselves in a similar situation. Plus you can test things out on men/ women to gage their reaction to things like fantasies..like a test run for when you're in an sexual relationship in reality. Who cares what other people may think? Why does anyone have to know! (19, female btw)

Its a tad odd. I would be very careful of this person on the other end of a phone line being someone else. A long running prank perhaps? Unlikely but certainly possible.

Edit: although, I do concede it is a bit more awkward I imagine that you've done it with someone I'm assuming you're intending to meet up with at some point? Careful with that one..it's fine,I think, if it's a) with a partner who is long distance or just as a bit of flirty fun before you meet up later on or whatever b) with a stranger. If you're both interested why not just meet up and go out? Or at least talk on the phone and get to know each other a bit better if you say you're getting on so well?
