Does it matter if your weird?

as long as you appear nice and normalish in society? If I told people the stuff that I think, fantasies etc they would class me as abnormal. Ive tried telling people in chatrooms etc and they just say 'your a weirdo, bye'.

Does everyone have things that remain hidden or are the normal people really normal? Im female btw.

If by weird you mean going against the norm, what is the problem? I find that quite attractive. If by weird you mean borderline psychopath, well you need therapy love.

Who wants to appear "nice and normalish in society"??? Sounds like hell.

If you deviate from social norms then you're forehead in stamed with 'abnormal'. Doesnt mean there's anything wrong with it.
Depends what kinda stuff I guess

Its just the things I think, like im the one who posted the thread called celebrities yesterday, from the replies its clear that im the only one that thinks like that. Theres some stuff that I wouldn't even dare to mention on here you'd think I was joking or at least call me mental. I am normal in most ways though its just little things that I keep hidden.

People seem to say its cool to be weird but then why arn't weirdos accepted?

There's no such thing as 'normal people'. To some extent we all deviate from the general social consensus of a 'normal person'. That, however, does not imply that everyone will gain the social acceptance from every other.

However, the notion that there is a trade off between honesty and social acceptance is, to some extent true, but very often an illusion. You just have to ignore the idiots. Personally, I would have a great deal more respect for someone expressing their true inner thoughts, than someone false, pretending to be someone else. And, I'm really not alone in that respect. You may think otherwise, because you've probably had many encounters with idiots.

And, don't think that what happens in chat rooms reflect the general population in real life. Behind a computer even the weakest wussy can be an ass.

Because the "weirdos" get rejected from idiots that are visible, audible and probably ****ed up themselves, and have to make a scene out of their views.
As long as you find you can live your life as the majority of the world do, basically in a socially acceptable way then who cares what little 'abnormalities' and 'quirks' you entertain

I think it is cool to be weird. I think there's too many sheep in the world, this is primarily why people call others "weird" or whatever because they daren't admit what they really think!

Surely everybody thinks peculiar things...I for example walk around wondering what animals think and feel and whether they all have this great world, like where they have their own version of New York or something! < That's weird, but who gives a ****. It's when you're going in to really warped things that's slightly scary.

Ok, maybe I am slightly crazy too.... and also what is classified as "normal" and "weird"?

lol its the warped things that I think im just sick and twisted, but on the other hand I think all the normal stuff too, so I feel bad for having this twisted streak.
Id say the animal thing is quite common lol :p:

Anon, I agree. I certainly have things that I wouldn't share with mainstream society - in fact, some things I'm even hesitant to share with my best friend, and we are really close! I think if people were honest, a lot of people too would say the same. People put on a front in public, and I reckon that it we don't see the real person a lot of the time.

PM me if you wanna chat further.

And to answer the question... no it doesn't matter if your weird, as long as you are happy with who/what you are. If you're not, then maybe it matters, but for different reasons.
