Part catered or Self catered halls?

I'm applying for a place on Falmer campus in Brighton for this September, and I cannot for the life of me decide if I want part-catered accomadation or self-catered - on the one hand, part-catered is nearly a grand more for the year, and I'm not sure I'd use it that much as there are timeslots for meals.

But on the other hand, it might cost more to feed myself, I'm a shocking cook and if I end up stone broke I'd rather not starve completely.

Has anyone got any advice? :biggrin:
