Hasn't been mentioned to us.

Out of interest, are some doors being replaced in flats?

i hope they don't come here. we have had people in our flat that have replaced things like the phone, fire equipment etc even when we did not report them. but thank god no one had come in our rooms.

AFAIK they need permission to enter your room, if not they they definately need to give you notice of them doing so. Unless it's an emergency or you have asked for something to be fixed.

I had my bathroom door replaced over Christmas break. The first I knew about it was when I got back and my posters were on my bed and there was a note shoved under my door, haha.

Anyway, maybe it was just a spot inspection thing for the sake of it... I dunno, hope they don't come back to try and access my room anyway. I cleaned it today, just in case!

they post a note under our doors if they want to inspect our rooms. It just says what time they will be coming and even if we arent in they will still inspect the room. Only had it done twice this year on our corridor and luckily neither time has my room been chosen! Couldnt bear for them to see the amount of stuff i have posted on my walls!

might have to tidy then. one of my house mates said they will be coming around soon. and that would not be a good thing. 3 of my house mates have left their rooms open and gone away. one room we covered in news paper, which is still up, and another in balloons thanks to martin. and the 3rd one has left his room open right now. ohhh what to do

john; you had better get rid of the indonesian sex-slave that you have hidden in your shower; otherwise we will have to add it to the list

Why are they replacing the bathroom doors? Good job really, I shut mine whilst there was a hanger on it, and now the paint has chipped off!

I don't know but it does seem pointless!!!

balls, i got a letter today, aw man thats another fine to add to the list

a letter saying what? is it about your toilet? and less of the sex slave. I’m about the only person who’s room is ok. Craig and Phil’s rooms still contain all the mess we created when they left them open, and that will soon be the same for James. And you broke your toilet. So i will be the only one fine free. Which is good considering I never handed my inventory sheet in.
so are they doing everyone's or just a selected few?

They only went into a few of the rooms on my corridor. Including mine :frown:

Actually got quite annoyed by it. I wanted to be there for the inspection but by the time I found out it was too late to arrange a specific time. The letter said they'd come around between 10am and 12:30pm. I had a train to catch at 13:29.

They - of course - thus didn't arrive until 12:29. Sneaky gits. Another minute and I'd have left them a note telling them to come back another time.

Clean(ish) inspection at least. Thank god I removed the posters from my walls as, despite (I'm reasonably certain) this being given the a-okay in the Residents Handbook, the posters on my doors were frowned upon. They also weren't overly impressed with my assertion that sinks are self cleaning

Did they just leave a note in your room telling you what was wrong?
Reply 17
No, I wasn't given a note. As I was present for the inspection they just told me.

Note was left in the kitchen however.

I'm quite worried now. They'll most probably pick up on the smallest of things and make us pay extortionate prices.
Reply 19
i hope not. i have some small holes in my wall that i never told them about. i just assumed that because they didn't make the last resident replace the plaster board they won't me. all so the fines are ridiculous! like £100 for the corridor phone, £25 for a toaster £70 for a notice board!
