A-level maths with grade C intermediate gcse maths

Don't mean to boast, but after getting a C grade at intermediate GCSE maths, I did AS maths my self (because the school required B at higher) and managed to get an A  So what I'm trying to say is that it is very possible to do AS maths with a C in GCSE maths, even so, with intermediate tier. I admit that in GCSE I didn't really care, which might explain why I got a C in the first place.

Well, congratulations. Did you do all three modules in Jan?

yeah core 1,2 and m1

(but I had to admit it wasn't 'completely' self study, my dad helped me to a certain extent, he's by no means a maths teacher, he just remembers it from 25 years ago)

Well done Mustard man. I got a B in maths in my GCSEs because the school wouldn't let me take the higher paper. They required an A grade for people to take it for A level.

That's very good that you got an A after getting a C before.

yeah, I found m1 the hardest, there was only one thing which bugged me the most- the graphs which involve several simultaneous equations. Just practise loads and you'll get the hang of it, I promise.

I'm in the same boat, got c at GCSE inter and am now doing AS everyone said that it wasnt possible but frankly i've found little evidence for that (i did struggle a little at first) just got a C in C1 (found out today!!!!) i've been told that it was quite a high C and is likely to be an A or B in the summer final exams, so yeah in short dont listen to anyone that says you cant do maths alevel without a or b at GCSE
