Perfect smile (teeth)

I want a straight set of teeth all same size and straight and white.
How do I achieve this?

I have a smallish jaws, I've heard you can get operations for this free from the NHS anyone know anything about this? Cos of the small jaw I got funny teeth. I'm such a smiley person, I'm always laughing and smiling, but I think my teeth put people off me. :frown: I had braces for three years when I was younger, they didnt straighten them :frown:

Who do I go to see about this? GP? dentist? orthodontist?

Your best bet is to visit your dentist, who will be able to examine you fully and hopefully refer you to an orthodontist.

If it impairs your eating, or is severe enough, you will be able to get it on the NHS. Unfortunately if it is purely cosmetic, due to a recent rule change, you will have to pay. I think this is due to the sheer number of people with braces nowadays, which must cost the NHS a heck of a lot.

If you already had a brace and it didn't work, this might constitute getting it for free though- as the orthodontist's job is to straighten your teeth, and as long as they remain unstraightened in theory they haven't finished the job.

I hope you feel better about your teeth- I'm slightly self conscious about mine because they are affected by the water in our area and have this "banding" of colour along the bottom where they're a white which is different to the normal colour. I know how you feel. Good luck!

Your dentist is the best person to see, as not only can they give you the information about possible treatments, but they can also refer you to orthodontists and other dental specialists.

same thing happend to me, had them on when i was about 9/10, and then 6-9 months later, they took them off, and gave me removable ones for about 3 months.

Now my teeth are bit wonky at the the middle of the top and bottom

it is impossible to get absolutally perfect teeth.. not only that, but it looks weird too.. i mean, check out martine mccutcheon.. it's obvious she has had a hell of a lot done to her teeth, because peoples teeth just aren't like that.

also, to have perfectly white teeth will also make you look sstrange.. because your teeth aren't naturally that white..

i have naturally white teeth....i brush them 2x a day and avoid fizzy drinks....my teeth are white literally and they do not look freaky- so its not freaky to have white teeth! lol, i also had braces they did the job perfectly...mayb blue angel shud give the braces one more try?

get braces and brush regularly or have them all removed and get totally fake white teeth - hollywood style

braces suck.. i'm sure most of you know and agree.. they hurt, they suck, and they give you ulsers... they will probably hurt more the older you are because your teeth will have set more.. so yeah..

I had braces quite recently, and, yes, they're awful at the time but the results were so worth it. I couldn't be happier with the results, so I think you should give them the benefit of the doubt. They are such a confidence boost (good teeth - not braces!). I hope things work out well for you and your smile!

I've had braces since i was 15, am now coming up 19 and still have them! My teeth are straight, nothing wrong with my tooth, its cause i have a incisor stuck in my gum which is being pulled down by my brace but its taking sooooo long! I can see it now tho so hopefully braces will be off soon, yay!

Anyways yeh, see your dentist!
