Weight loss on upper legs

Apologies for the likelihood of having repeated an old thread first of all
I lost a lot of weight at uni; 3 stone in 3 months, a long time ago, since then I've gotten even better and am consistently around 12 stone now, and walk about 15 miles a week to work which is something I very much enjoy. I still have rather large upper legs though, and am having trouble thinking of simpler stuff i can do to help the problem. My lower ones are quite good, from the walking etc; and I do a lot of situps to tone the muscle behind my small beer belly which I don't mind so much; but given I walk everywhere any solution that means I don't go too much (if at all) to the gym would be a great help, though if needs must I can happily go to a nice local one that doesn't charge much.
Exercise you can do at home - steps! Either up and down your stairs at home (although that could be hazardous and get quite boring/tedious) or construct your own little stepper. I use the couch! Take the seat cushions off and, providing it isn't too high, you can use it to step up and down from - great for the gluteals and upper leg muscles! :top:

Or you can just buy a stepper :p:

you can't just lose weight from one part of the body, it has to come from all over. can't you jog to work or something?

I agree with Bis................alternatively add a bit of weight eg, books in your ruksack..........that will help with the 'tone-ing'.

I agree, while you can use specific exercises which target the legs to build up muscle, but that won't do very much for the fat already there.

It is pretty much impossible to lose weight from a specific area, all you can do is try to tone up there.
