Fittness DVDs-the dance variety? Opinions please!

Cosiderin buying the dance type fittness dvd eg the Eric Prydz dance areobic thingy. Reason being I LOVE dancing, whether its on the dance floor whilst under the influence or in my bedroom to good old Britney. Apparently it is one of the best ways to stay trim and gives you a great body too girlies (and guys of course)!

Was just wondering if anybody has already got one and what they think of it or just what people think of them in general! Cheers guys nd gals

Hey

I own Darrin's Dance Grooves dvd
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007TKG4E/qid=1142014038/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-6249593-3064138?s=dvd&v=glance&n=130

I got it last year and it is really great fun and quite simple to follow. There is Britney's You Drive Me Crazy and Nsync's Bye Bye Bye amongst others:biggrin: .

It starts with a warm up bit which is ok but can get a bit boring  Then it breaks it all down to show you how to do all the moves to the songs first without the music. I found that it does take quite some time to learn and remember all the moves and to get the rhythm right, so expect to keeping going back to certain parts. Suprisingly, despite this repitition, it's not actually as annoying as you imagine it to be. He's very professional. Then after you've learnt the moves you can do them with the music which is such a great feeling:biggrin: ,

I think for this to work as a way of keeping fit, you have to really get into it and put a lot of effort in. Also, keep in mind that once you've learnt the songs the work out is really only like half an hour max, so it would probably be better to do other stuff as well. I found it great fun though and would definitely recommend it. Hope this helped
The Ministry of sound ones are all good. I've got the first 2, the one with the people from call on me in it and the 'beach body' one. The music is funky, the moves are cool and it gets you sweating. Out of those 2 I enjoy the 2nd the most

If you want cardio workout, go for the Pump It Up dvds, and something with high energy music.

If you want to tone, build lean but efficient muscle, and if you have some previous dance experience, the New York City Ballet Workout is excellent for that, but it's a lot more chilled out and gentle. You'll still feel warm, but it's more about building muscles for posture and technique than losing weight or developing cardio fitness.

agree with ministry of sound's ones, though only tried pump it up beach one...hmm..think i only did it once cos i'm so incredibly lazy..but the music's good on them...problem with me & fitness dance dvds is that i fast forward bits i cant be asked to do/think is going on for too long...which is kinda pointless..

Deffo agree with the pump it up videos - ive tried both the beach body work out and the high energy one and the beach body one is definately my fave! Its so much fun - probably because im the most uncoordinated person ever! :p: Also you can feel it working and you will see results, i do it between 1-4 times a week and its working so far! Good luck!
