Well done! Thats about the same as my friend got last year and he's probably one of the top 50 or so in the country. I got 105 last year, but I'm expecting a score in the 60s or 70s for this one .

I think the first 15 are worth 5 each and the last 10 are worth 6.

and dont you start off with 50? and you lose marks for getting questions wrong?

u start with 15 i think...as 16-20 lose 1 mark and 21-25 lose 2
so basically top mark is 150

No, No, No. maximum mark is 135. 5 marks each for first 15. 6 marks for 16-20. lose one mark for each incorrect answer for 16-20. 2marks lost for incorrect answers for 21-25. start with nil points.

i am not sure that u r right mate....as u can not get a negative score as far as i know so they give u 15 free :-)

good point. but isnt that the senior challenge where you start with 25.

Looking at the papers on the UKMT website it seems that the marking is as Undry1 suggested for the IMC. In the SMC you start on 15.

SMC you start on 25: 4 for each question, -1 for eahc incorrect answer

I got 129/135 for the IMC. I must have got one question wrong between 16 and 20. I'm in yr 10 (Im 14), so I guess we're talking about the same thing - the intermediate maths thing...
