Girl said i look like a pigeon

:frown:

I was in my college class on Friday afternoon and these 3 girls kept looking at me and tittering. At first I was a bit paranoid thinking I had chocolate on my face or snot at my nose or something but then I got some balls and I went to speak to them.

As I walked upto them they were laughing really loud. I said to them "I just wanted to take a second to meet you" and I went to shake their hand and they laughed even more. I started laughing with them and they laughed even more so I thought I had it nailed.

So I know one of them and asked why she was laughing at me earlier. One of her friends mumbled something but I heard her say "pigeon" so I said "What about the pigeon?"

The girls started giggling and one of them said I look like a pigeon and burst out laughing. I don't know what they mean by it and it has really upset me because it makes me think I am not good looking and if they spread it around I will be called pigeon by everyone and get laughed at.

I should of called them something but I got sad and walked off. I will see these girls nearly every day because they are in my new classes so I really need some way to deal with them and stop them thinking I look like a pigeon. It is a really strage thing to call some one and I want to know why they said pigeon and not something else.

Ignore them, they're stupid and immature.

You can report people for bullying in college you know.

A pidgeon? Wtf? Almost certainly not what they were laughing about, and just the first random thing that came into her head when you asked. Although that's not entirely reassurring, i admit...

(unless, do you have a habit of bobbing your head like a pidgeon? :p:)

I can honestly say I've never seen a pigeon that looked like that. Ignore them.

You look perfectly normal. Ignore them - they're just b*tches.

Not obviously pidgeon-like...are you sure there are no feathers where the photo doesn't show?

(sorry, i shouldn't be lighthearted, i know, but...c'mon, a pidgoen? ignore it, take it as a joke, whatever, but for christ's sake don't take it this seriously. That's the best advice i can give).

you do not look anything like a pigeon! tell them to shut up.
You actually look quite good in that pic and it was very mature of you to approach them and try and shake their hand. Tell them they're no oil painting either.
you're well fit. tell them to f**** off
You look fine hun. Really. They probably don't actualy think that you look like a pigeon and are just career b*tches. Some people will take the p*ss out of anything. I like beatnik87's advice

Why bother stooping to their level though? I'd just ignore it and not let it get to me, since it's quite clearly a load of ****.

Ignore them, they sound like complete morons.

It's an old cliche, but also a fact, that people bully other people because they are unhappy with their own lives.

They are not worth your time, effort or consideration.

If they said I looked like a pigeon I'd probably flap my wings and coo at them. Or even better, threaten to **** on their heads.

But the best thing is probably to just ignore them.

This might help cheer you up a little.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Good effort.

To be perfectly honest, if you had just posted a picture I would never have thought you looked like a pidgeon, but now that you've said it and then posted a picture, I can kind of see what they mean, but obviously, you wouldn't actually be mistaken for a pidgeon or anything. And you're not bad looking, the way you posted I thought, "Oh god...", but seriously you look fine.

What I mean is that people are always 'alikened' to animals, well maybe I just go to a weird school but people always have random crap conversations like: if (whoever) was an animal what do you reckon they'd be?

But they're obviously not doing that, they're just being crass and quite rude really to laugh in your face. If they don't come and apologise soon (give them a chance to), the next time you see them say: "Looking like a pigeon is better than looking like a dog" or something to that effect. Or, "Well, if I'm a pidgeon I'm certainly more of a bird than you are, look at the jaw on you, bloody hell, you are all complete men" and then walk on.

Like I say, you're not even bad looking so they are just being silly, not so subtly.

PS. I think if you grew your hair out you'd look less like a pigeon, if you are really worried about it (don't be). But extra hair would definitely help I reckon.

You could do actually, at least it'd show them you're not afraid to laugh at yourself and they couldn't even go further than that so it would effectively kill the joke off - what more would there be to do?!

Yeah, look at them and comment on some imperfection, try not to sound too rude but make them feel bad.

Btw you don't look like a pigeon.
