It's probably more of a love/hate thing if you "like" someone who doesn't like you, isn't it?

they don't like you? I don't mean like as in the opposite sex I mean in general can you like someone who doesn't like you?

Why not?

If someone doesn't like you, then disassociate with them. No one has to like anybody else.
Yes you can like someone even if they don't "like" you back. But I personally have never liked anyone that actually disliked me.

It will be quite difficult doing so, but i guess possible
I personally never felt that, why would i like someone who doesnt like me
It's this whole romantic idea of a love/hate relationship that you get from movies and books and other socialising agents. In reality, it doens't quite work out that way and will probably hurt more than it'll help.
I think a lot of people have misunderstood the OP. They don't mean is it possible to fancy someone who doesn't fancy you, they mean is it possible to feel friendly towards someone who doesn't like you. Personally I don't think you can like someone who doesn't like you - you're automatically going to feel a bit resentful towards them, especially if they have no reason for disliking you. Then again, in a sort of hero worship type way, it can be possible.
