But, would you say 7 st 2 is a good weight for a 16 year old girl who is 5ft 2?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's way too thin. Get some of those build up drinks down you. 7st 10 at least. My ideal weight is 7st 13 and I'm only 5"0

Yeah you sound a little too thin. If your asking this question cos your wondering whether blokes will fancy you or not then bear in mind that skinny birds arent very attractive. If its a health issue then like I say sounds like your a little bit underweight.

Reply 4

Christ its gone from one thing to another- skinny girls aren't attractive??? no wonder girls have eating disorders wtf are we supposed to look like!!! I couldn't care less what people think of my weight- some slag me off for being to thin but i've never dieted in my life infact I eat more than most so this is just me, I wish people could just stop trying to put others down and just accept them as they are!!! Might sound slightly stressed with this post lol but it annoys me how everyone seems to get slagged off- oh your too thin oh your to fat etc just be bloody happy!!

Theres nothing wrong with skinny girls- ok the anorexia look isn't exactly the sexiest but neither is the overweight one!!!

im 5 ft 1.5 and im 7 stone 6. im perfectly fine well i am not overweight but i do have nice curves!!
trust me you are fine! you have nothing to worry about! be happy!!

Reply 6

im 5ft2 and 7stone10. It sounds thin but youre probably not. As long as you're eating healthy then im guessing youve got nothing to worry about!

Reply 7

its a scarily low weight! I know im a lot over at 5"1 and 12 st, but i really wouldnt want to be any less than 10 or maybe 9.5

Reply 8

What it all boils down to is this: if you don't have an eating disorder, any weight is fine as long as you feel happy and healthy. Never mind people saying "that's far too thin" - if that's your natural weight and you're not starving yourself to maintain it, then don't worry.

theres no knowing how underweight or overweight she is because we dont know anything about this girls body. if she was 5st then yes we cud guess shes underweight and the same if she was 16 stone, we cud guess shes overweight. As long as you (anonymous) feel healthy, do not have any problems eating or confidence issues with your body then i would assume you are a healthy individual. but i wudnt bother asking whether a certain weight is healthy or not because noone can judge from a forum.

Reply 10

Weight doesn't really count for that much because muscles weight more than fat anyway, so you can be thin and heavyish at the same time.

Why do people keep judging themselves on weight?!

Reply 11

7st 2 is a little underweight, but not hugely! I'm 5"2 and I'm 7 stone 12, and I would like to lose a bit so that I go back down to 7 stone 10. You should probably put on a tiny bit of a weight but I wouldn't say that it was a problem.

wheight is a stupid indication of body type. lean mass percentage is much more representative. i am 6 "3 and i wheigh 97 kg when i should be 80 but it muscle.

You mean, in the same sense as a hypothetical kilogram of feathers would weigh less than the equivalent in tungsten?

body X and body Y are both the same wheight 100 kg

body X has 35 % fat and body Y has only 9% fat
At the same wheight [constant] with the only variable being fat content, body X will look bigger, it will be larger in size

Which merely proves otherwise substantial constituents of body mass to be denser, not their 'weighing' more per se.

Or she could bear in mind that different blokes have different tastes. You're stating your taste like it's a universal fact. It's not.

Your presenting a dangerous point of view here. At your current height/weight you are MEDICALLY underweight. You should therefore definately consider gaining a little, and perhaps pay attention to what you eat (on the offchance you have an eating disorder).

Gain some weight.

Obviously not.

Don't be so ridiculous! I'm 21, 5' 1'', and my usual weight is 7 stone. When i was the OP's age i was about 6 and a half stone. I have never weighed more that 7 and a half, and that was after an exam period when i constantly ate chocolate while revising! I certainly never starve myself and eat a perfectly normal diet, + i'm a chocoholic, and eat takeaway about once a week.... I'm a normal size 8, with curvy hips and large breasts, i have flesh on my stomach, my ribs don't stick out....you get the picture. The OP's BMI (which is only a guide anyway as it can't account for the difference between muscle/fat, the size of your frame etc) puts her only very marginally 'underweight' (18.3), certainly nowhere near the range you would begin to get concerned about eating disorders.

If she perceives herself to be overweight and wants to lose weight, or deliberately restricts her diet for fear of gaining weight, then yes, she should be concerned about developing an eating disorder. But the fact she's posting asking if she should gain weight suggests that isnt the case- probably she's mentioned her weight to someone and because they have a larger frame and could never conceive being such a low weight they've said 'OMG! you're anorexic!', and made her paranoid.

Will you please stop scaring this girl She may be like me, and just have a very petite frame that is perfectly healthy at the weight she is. As other people have said, as long as she feels healthy, she should not try to gain weight.

For 5'2" you should aim to get your weight between 7st - 9st, so you're fine
