Well basically you can consider me as a person who is caged in a room after school [With nothing in it but a bed]. I'm let out for about an hour, and then it's back in the room. I cant do anything to stop it. I think I'm going abit crazy all I do is sit on the floor and think. Any advice?

Are you grounded? Or is this what you just feel like doing?

Kind of grounded, but it's been going for about 7 months now.
what's stopping you from leaving the room?
Thats quite important. Is that your mentality, feeling caged, or do your parents not let you out much?

If it is the former, you could well be depressed. I would really suggest you go to a youth counsellor or a doctor. They will be able to help you or at least give you some mental strategies to deal with your moods. If it is the latter you really need to speak to them! Tell them about the effect it is having on your mood. You may even need to speak to a counsellor to get help dealing with your parents.

I'm not let out basically. They dont realise how much time I actually spend in there, they expect me to study while I'm in there too but they dont realise that's quite impossible.

Blimey - you don't happen to be at medical school do you? I have exactly the same problem at the moment.

Seriously though, it is impossible to diagnose 'extreme depression' online. infact, through posting on here, it seems unlikely that that is actually the problem! you haven't given us enough details as to why you're always in your room, but i suggest if you feel you do have a problem, you see your GP.

I lived like that from the age of 12 to18. I pretty much messed up academically, and became so depressed I now have a long-term illness as a result and I will be on medication for the rest of my life. You need to seek help from school or whatever, or find some good ways of coping.
We really need more information. Who are "they" and why are you not allowed out?

Are you at school or uni?

How do you feel? We need some descriptions.

But seriously, go see a doctor.

How did you escape it though? I can't live like this anymore. I cant.

'They' are some people my parents know and I'm living with.

I'm at school.

I feel really bad basically. I have nothing to do most of the day and my mind is basically going stale because I'm sitting in a room for about 13 hours straight with nothing but a bed and school books in it.
sorry for sounding rude and nosy, but why dont you live with your parents?

What did you do that restricted your freedom so much?!

I wasted most of my time on the Internet, which made me feel just as bad as I couldn't go out and meet the people I'd become friends with online, and quite often they'd be out having a good time whilst I was sat there with nothing to do. Reading books was a good escape, but the depression returned when I wasn't reading them. I didn't have the concentration to do any school work, and that's why I did so badly.

Well you need to either speak to your parents, or the people you're living with.

What is the reason behind this?
hmmm this is quite bad its like being kept prisoner in your own room, where's social services when you need them.
