Can you get pregnant...

from oral sex? I'm a virgin and have been going out with my boyfriend for a few months now and just really want to pleasure him in that way. But how much of a risk of getting pregnant is there? I'm not on the pill, and don't really want to.

You can't get pregnant from oral sex. The only possible risk is that you could get some sperm on his or your hands during heavy foreplay and accidentally touch your vagina, in which case there is a very, very small risk of getting pregnant. But you cannot get pregnant orally. The only way of getting pregnant is for sperm to get into your vagina and swim up to fertilise an egg.

if you know so little about sex, oral or otherwise, should you even be consider dong it? It shocks me how little people know about sex before they do it.

And if you're that worrued abut getting pregnant, get protected! There are other forms of contraception

No you can't get pregnant simply from giving oral sex. However you can catch STDs so if you aren't 100% sure about his sexual past then I would advice you use a condom.

yes I know - but a student discussion board is probably not the most appropiate place...........................this is the second time today there has been a post of "can I get pregnant by doing................." and quite honestly, it doesn't take a genius to make a rough guess at the answer

Our High School was never taught sex education. I believe in the 5-6 years I was there, we had 1 lesson of sex education (1 lesson = 55 minutes). Strange really.

well im just thinking basic sex education kind of expalins the biology of sex, as far as i remember doesnt say anything about sperm swimming down the throat, but maybe im mistaken

By the way, this thread reminds me of a funny card I saw in a shop the other day. It's got a picture of some sperm swimming on a red background and one of them says, "How far until we reach the ovaries?" and the other one replies, "Oh, ages yet, we've only just passed the tonsils!"
