My foot

Sorry to moan about my foot...

for years now, every now and again, my foot sort of seizes up, curling into a weird contorted shape. It hurts like hell when this happens and i have to push it against the floor to get it back to shape... even then it sometime jst seizes up again. It's getting more frequent... anyone know what it might be?

Suzi, do you take any steroids or medication? Or have you ever done so?

Ive done that on occassion. Usually when Im stretching it a lot. I find stepping on it while it is on the floor helps.

Just a cramp. I get it sometimes too.

Sounds a lot like cramp, although it's odd that you would be getting it so frequently. Is there a particular activity you're doing when it happens, i.e. sitting? It could be that you're sitting in such a way which causes your foot to cramp.

As a short term solution, when the pain comes, it's best to pull on your toes- granted it is cramp. But I suggest you see your doctor about it, as it could be a particular thing causing the cramps, or alternatively it could be something entirely different- such as a trapped nerve.

Good luck!
I get that, so does my mum, so I'm guessing it might be hereditory.
Its like a spasm of some kind, which I've put down to a tendon or something being pushed slightly out of place. I find wiggling my toes as much as I can to help.

Nope none.. unless the pill counts, but ive had this since before i started that.
Cramps sounds like, I get them in my feet a lot, esp when I'm doing something which tenses me up

Id get it medically checked, there is something seriously wrong if they are increasing, try drinking more, drink electroliteys(dunno the exact name of the product) i know what you are describing to be induced by incredibly high dosage of steroids.
Does it happen when your foot is cold/wet/when you are tired?
To me it sounds like when I get my paralysis set in, but probably the same sorta thing as cramp.

Muscle contraction is the reason for the shape and the pain.
