Can't offer any helpful comments at all, but I visited it today and I will say the gardens are beautiful, with lovely ducks everywhere! They are very very proud of those ducks in Emmanuel.

The queens building is a fairly new addition to the college. Apparently it holds some sort of record for being the most expensive buiding per m^3 in Europe, or something strange like that.
Was the queens building where we all had to wait for interviews?

Can anyone comment on the general standard of the rooms?

Yes, that was it! Rooms are very nice. (At least from my limited experience.) Of course, they can vary quite considerably. Have you got your freshers pack yet? Mine arrived today.

Yeah, i got it this morning. It came with a massive reading list for maths, and a page on fees. Do you know if home students have to pay college fees? Also, are tuition fees per year or for the whole course (3 yrs)?

No, you pay tuition fees every year, casue they tend to go up by £25 a year. You do not have to pay college fees, your council LEA pays these too!
Hey suzi vet and ralfskini, what subjects did you get in for, and what were your offers? Did either of you have your interview on the 17th?

Yeah, I need 1 and 2 in STEP II and III. I think I need to do a hell of a lot of work to get them, but the bonus is my offer is lower than some. Ive got bristol uni as backup. What about you?

I had to do a test before interview called the BMAT, my marks were part of the selection process. I did fairly well in it which i think helped. I just(!) have to get 3A's. Where abouts are you from?

The town I live in (yate) was voted the 40th worst town in britain! Its near bristol, and its not that bad. The A levels you're doing are the exact ones i wanted to do, but i couldnt do bio and chem. Instead i'm stuck with physics! My others are maths, f maths and chem. Was the BMAT really hard - the people from my school that applied for med/vet med all did badly on it. What made you go for cam and vet med?

I decided on vet med after doing some work experience in year 10, followed by some more. There is only 6 places that do it in the country, and i had to list 4. Didnt want to go to glasgow, or liverpool really, so it was a choice! But i really like it; beautiful city and good reputation. Went on a 2 day thing a yera ago for people thinking about vet med there, and i really liked it. I come from near oxford, and i love it there, cambridge is similar so im hoping ill like it just as much. You? Have you visited emma at all?

Also, thats very weird you coulnt do bio and chem? Arnt they two subjects that logically go together?
I was only able to see one college at the maths open day last may, and i picked emma because it looked like it had the best mixture of social and acedemic aspects. It turned out to be really friendly and welcoming, and so i applied having only seen emma.

I had to do maths and further maths when i was picking my A-levels, and the f-maths block had biology in it, also the chem block did. What was your interview like?

My interviews were ok. the subject based one was really good, but the very scientific one was very difficult. I said something a bit silly in it too. How was yours?
