Is there? Now that was unexpected.

Odd. I'd have thought it unlikely that anyone with AAA/AABB would be in UCAS extra.
Doesnt mean u will still get in tho with lower grades, they will still require aaa or could have forgot to inform ucas they are full.

You would still need to satisfy their requirement (AAA / AABB), but it kind of indicates that they never received enough good candidates to fill their offer spaces - which is odd because surely Nottingham attracts the top bunch and I haven't seen a course of a similiar magnitude on it. Then again, I don't know of anyone who has received a rejection from L100 Nottingham, do you?

It's a shame Extra is only open to those with 6 rejections - otherwise those who missed out on Bristol and anything above would have had a good chance.

You can still decline your offers and enter Extra.

How do you know whether Nottingham is indeed in ucas extra or not?

could they have just forgotten to inform ucas they're full, as someone suggested?

That's cunning, but sweet.

Wouldn't it work the other way round: the uni's with vacancies contact UCAS. Anyhow: it may be a mistake, surely it has to be, but is definitely an excellent lead for anyone who is in that certain position.

How can that be?

It was listed in extra last academic year also. However, when I phoned them, the places for L100 were for international students only since they had already filled their home student places. They did offer me deferred entry for L100 or a place on 'Economics with Chinese Studies' and some other course for normal entry.

If someone is without an offer, Economics with Chinese Studies seems a good option as you may be able to drop chinese studies and switch to L100 in 2nd year (I know someone who did this). NB, i think the Chinese study course in the first year doesnt require you to take mandarin but requires you to take an option of the "chinese economy".

Ah that's interesting.. studying Chinese without actually studying the language, heh. And learning about the Chinese economy is certainly a nice plus in today's times.

That's stretching it, but there's no harm if you contact the department directly (BEFORE you withdraw all your current applications and decline your offers!) to enquire.
