My housemate is unbelievable

Ok, it's 12:20am. The house is absolutely boiling, and my housemate is in bed, with her boyfriend, and shes just come downstairs to turn the heating on. It's ridiculous! She always moans when we get bills through and complains that she hasn't any money yet puts the heating on for no reason at all! She walks around the house in little skirts and vest tops and instead of putting jeans and a jumper on, the heating goes on instead. Grrr!

Ooh, shes just come downstairs, saying shes cold, and that the radiators in her room aren't working properly, well thats what her boyfriend reckons anyway. Sorry, but this annoys me no end; I have the smallest room in the house, and also the coldest as it just never seems to warm up, but I put on thick pyjamas and a dressing gown if i'm that cold. Is it too much to ask not to have the heating on when *everyone* in the house is in bed?!

I feel your pain, I can't stand a house being too warm either. Is it possible to turn off all the radiators in the house and let her turn up the one in her own room as high as she likes as a sort of compromise. Another alternative refuse to have the heating on at all and suggest that if she wants it then she should pay the entire bill. (maybe not).

Good luck anyway.

true but nothings worse than getting down in a freezin
room, fair play it'll heat up. Id rather go for it without a duvet personally
I'm lucky in that my bills are all inclusive atm, so i have it as warm as poss at night.

However next year things will be different. We're gonna split the bills, but work out who used the most in what month so its fairer
my bills are all inclusive but my rooms allways boiling if i have the heater on and freezing if i have it off lol. my bf allways moans about the heat in here XD he sleeps without a duvet most of the time lol
My bills all inclusive and will stay that way, but i know what you mean, it really hacks me off when i come in from uni and the heating on like 29c theres no need! And she should cuddle up with her bloke! She'll soon get too hot! And as for cold balls? If they did enough before hand then it wouldnt be a problem methinks. BUT as she thinks her radiator doesnt work, as the landlord in to fix it, she wont have an excuse then!

Its not fair for the rest of you to be uncomfortable! The times i wake up dripping in sweat through the night because the heatings on. Though, you could be cheeky and set the heating to only be on during the day, that ought to work!

oh my god - TELL HER. Clearly she has grown up ina house where you walk about in a tshirt and shorts all yr round. Explain to her the correlation between heating the house and bills. Show her electric blankets, and hot water bottles. Perhaps an extra duvet? I've just moved over from Australia, but jebus - you haev to talk to her!! 29C is too hot.

grr, that's so annoying. I hate it when it's hot, anyway, it's so much nicer to lounge around wrapped in a lovely fluffy duvet than to feel all naked in a mini skirt and vest top
Ye, i think so, i love to be cuddled up in a nice big fleece and a cup of cocoa. mind you, i do get cold in my room on occassion, my desk is bang on top of my radiator, so its not on often. Very very cold!

If it happens again, just turn it off when she goes upstairs! Its silly having it on full blast if everyones in bed - Just tell her to put some more clothes on if shes cold

That might not work; the thermostat is on the stairs, clicks when it's turned on or off and then all the radiators gurgle. Could try it though

She came downstairs after she'd turned it on in this silky night slip, and a dressing gown, like, thick pyjamas! Then she preceeded to make bacon sandwiches at 1am on a George Forman and stink the house out. Ew.
lol! post sex munchies! Just talk to her about it!

The thermostat in my house is on the landing, an often its my friend downstairs who moans about the heating - while going to bed wearing next to nothing! So we used to turn it off up here when she wasnt looking
Some people cant sleep in bed with clothes on, so that not really a fair accussation!
