Hi,

Sorry but I couldnt see how I could bring this up in general conversation in any other thread. One of my flatmates sings very intense opera when he has a shower, and he's been doing it now for nearly half an hour. When I say intense, I really mean it. It's like he thinks there might be an opera talent scout lurking outside ready to snap him up for the headline act at the sydney opera house or something. I really wish I could record it to let you hear just how ridiculously annoying it is. Anyway, I'm opening a poll on this subject - should I brutally murder my flatmate?

Go into the shower as if you're joining him. Soon shut him up.

it might raise a smile - or make him stand to attention

He said nothing about that, just about stopping him singing, so problem solved!

He has finished now, thankfully!

Seriously though, if you read in the papers soon a story about 'promising opera talent brutally blugenoed to death in horrificly excruciating way', don't believe what you read in the papers - he is not a promising talent.

the question is "Is he good?"

I love male opera singers. But then, if he's not an opera singer, then I see where you could have a problem. Turning off the hot water is a PLAN. Or you could retaliate in lots of other ways. Does he take salt? I mean....sugar.....

I love singing in the shower, but never opera, more of rock and grunge, although it is quite funny hearing me trying to sing in japanese.

I only sing a select few songs in the shower, unless something else has been in my head for ages, the most common thing that i sing is under the bridge by RHCP.

I thought you couldn't speak it yet, and were going to learn to soon.

Just because I can't speak it doesn't mean I can't sing it.

An intresting theory, do your lyrics just merge randomly into the general tune?

I know the lyrics, just not what they mean.

or he could be just copying what the person in the song is singing...
