Men and women - which women's dress size do you think is ideal? POLL

Poll

Which of these women's UK dress sizes is ideal?

This is in response to a thread I saw earlier about preferring 'skinny' or 'curvy' girls which I found to be a little flawed in that there is no clear and accepted definition of what constitutes either of those body shapes.

So, I thought I would make a thread that is a little more specific - which of the UK dress sizes listed in the poll above do you think is ideal?

Please make sure you pick the option that is appropriate for your gender. (For the avoidance of doubt, I shall be defining gender for the purposes of this poll as the gender you identify as being.)

Here is a list that shows what each of the dress sizes corresponds to in inches:

4 - BUST 30 WAIST 22.75 HIPS 32.75
6 - BUST 31 WAIST 23.75 HIPS 33.75
8 - BUST 32 WAIST 24.75 HIPS 34.75
10 - BUST 34 WAIST 26.75 HIPS 36.75
12 - BUST 36 WAIST 28.75 HIPS 38.75
14 - BUST 38 WAIST 30.75 HIPS 40.75
16 - BUST 40 WAIST 32.75 HIPS 42.75
18+ - BUST 43+ WAIST 35.75+ HIPS 45.75+

I honestly don't think that guys have any idea what female dress sizes look like? Correct me if I'm wrong, obviously.

NEG: That 79/105 votes have been from women (that's compared 26 votes from guys if my maths is correct), which indicates at the very least, that dudes care significantly less than girls when it comes to 'ideal' female dress size.

A healthy size for the frame of the person.
I think it really does depend on their height and a lot of other factors, but I suppose generally a 12.

I was a size 4 and it was honestly revolting. No man fancied me and I completely understand why. No man wants a bone, only dogs do.

inb4 you mention that girls have to be super skinny/borderline anorexic in order to get laid.
for me size 10-12... i guess that is because i am 10-12 depending on shop/fit/item of clothing and am happy with my body.... who knows. i wouldn't want to be smaller nor bigger.

I think that was my thread you were referring to - you're quite right and I'll be keeping an eye on what your poll discovers!

I voted 10, although I'd normally say 8-10, although it will obviously depend on height as well.

Also, looks like isa is trolling yours now. Good luck!

I want to say 8-10

EDIT: Also a genuine question, did ISA get rejected by oxbridge this year? I've never seen her so depressed.

I put 10 but it really depends on their height etc - to be honest it's not something that I'm that bothered about.
Where's the option for 'this poll is stupid'? Dress sizes correspond little to body shape and besides, all of those measurements assume a fairly hourglass shape. More often than not women will be different sizes on the top and bottom.

It's my opinion. It's known that generally the slimmer you are, the better the body you have.

Although, there are exceptions e.g. Beyoncé and Hendricks.

I'm sorry, would you prefer I invent a new sizing system instead?

well your "opinion" does no good for your mental health or view on life/other people/society.

I don't really see what's wrong with someone preferring a different size to someone else. It's hardly going to make someone have a mental breakdown - you're rather overreacting.
whatever dress size that fits :dontknow: No point wearing size that is too big or small >_>

I don't see the problem with thinking thin>fat ... with the whole anorexia hype I think people have forgotten that obesity is just as big, and perhaps still more common, health risk.
