I read a random post somewhere about women shaving their legs, and 'other parts', and it advised that you shouldn't shave against the growth of the hair, because it makes them ingrown.
Is this meant to apply to men shaving their faces aswell? 'Cause I've been shaving at every angle possible to get a clean shave [mostly against the hair growth] for about a year and I havn't encountered any crazy rogue hairs.
yes, just keep doing it, it wont be a problem i (and every other man) always do(es) it and its not a problem, its the only way to get a close shave anyway lol
I have to shave everyday so i think i know. i always shave from the sideburns in a downward direction. Downwards on all parts of your face even on the underside of your chin, but where ur chin starts to bend into your neck go upwards.
I also find to stop a shaving rash, even if you dont get one, is to actually not use shaving gel, just shave under a running shower with the water running across the point your shaving.
to prevent a rash, after you finish shavings and rinsigin and whatever use moisturiser.just like the normal one you use to keep your skin from drying out. and don't use any sprays or perfume.it'll sting. but you're a guy, you've been doing this for a year,i guess you know that already
That's wierd, I've found that I only ever get a rash if I only use water, it's fine with gel/foam.
ok maybe thats just me anyway thats the way i was taught by my dad to do it, and the lads in my flat agree, down on face and underside of chin, up on neck.
Ok seriously just a validation of the above really, down on face, up on chin personally. I suppose if you really want to have a close shave go against the grain, i can't see any problem in it. Couldn't you have googled it and gone on some health site?
to prevent a rash .... use moisturiser.just like the normal one you use to keep your skin from drying out.... you've been doing this for a year,i guess you know that already
What is this mythical "moisturiser" of which you speak?
the only reason I know of for not shaving against the grain is...INGROWN HAIRS!!! painful wee things that I would not like to experience a second time over! since my first ingrown hair i have been a devoted preacher of this technique!!
