nasal strips to improve performance

(originally posted this in sport but seeing as there's currently 1 person veiwing that forum and 77 this one, i thought it may have more success here)

it is a generally accepted fact that these litte plastic strips designed to increase oxygen intake through the nose do not improve performance (atleast not through physiological factors)
however i have to do a presentation about them in pe and was wondering if anyone knows any interesting facts about their advantages or disadvantages or possibly stories about athletes how have used them
help hugely appreciated

I've never put much worth in them and put down any benefits to the "placebo" phenomenon. I don't really know much more about them  .

Try taping one to your d**k.

If it doesn't improve the performance of that, then what's the point?
